Mark made 22 pup cups tonight for our summer fundraiser in support of . If we sell them all, that’s $110 dollars raised and then we can make another batch and hopefully keep this going through the end of September.

We love supporting this rescue and more on that later but for now, please help us kick off our fundraiser so we can help some dogs while treating yours

100% of the sale will be donated meaning Mutts is donating the ingredients and packaging

Quarter 2 donations have been finalized and wow, you guys, this was our biggest quarterly donation yet! Just like in Q 1, we continued to see tremendous growth to our Drink Coffee, Help Dogs program meaning more cups of coffee sold, more money we were able to donate and it’s all because of your ongoing support

Thank YOU 🙏 We continue to prove that a small coffeeshop in an Oregon suburb can do big things for dogs in need of help on a national scale.

Our partner .state.four.paws is currently in desperate need of dog food donations so though donations like ours help, the need quickly outpaces due to the number of continued stray dogs in need of help in their shelterless county

I’ve been wanting to go that one extra step in terms of helping our local community by offering more than just novelties like dog toys.

Since moving our dog toy library outside permanently, we’ve noticed visitors enjoy it outside of cafe hours. But we’ve also noticed our camera can be a deterrent as well and this is what happened the other night when we had a special visitor who was shopping for a toy with their pup, only to put it back after they saw our camera 😞

We decided that we will eventually move the library to the street so maybe visitors don’t feel embarrassed or feel like they are imposing when we want them to know they are welcome.

For now, we will set up a table by the front door (and a sign welcoming everyone) and I’ll start off the supply bin with a donation of leashes, collars, and harnesses. Like with the toy library, I’m hoping to build this over time and that our Beaverton community, or anyone for that matter, can benefit from our small but might supply bank.

This will be in tandem with our Fences for Fido donation bin that we take donations for year round

If you’d like to donate to our new supply bank, items we will start off accepting:

-gift cards to any major pet store (in lieu of dog food) that we will distribute

-leashes, collars, harnesses

-grooming tools (clean)

-toys

-unopened dog treats

-food bowls (especially ones good for traveling)

-p**p bags

We LOVE this rescue for many reasons and we pitched in a $300 donation, thanks to our customers who keep our mission active with their everyday purchases.

The stars aligned today and roaster Mark, also Trimet operator Mark, got to pop in to Mutts on a quick break and enjoy a cup of drip coffee that he himself roasted

Though Mark’s garage is in SE Portland, he occasionally does routes that start in Gresham and end at the Beaverton Transit Center and if he isn’t behind schedule, he usually has time to stop by the shop for a quick hello

What makes our sandwiches so freaking popular?

✅ all sandwiches are made-to-order

❌ never pre-made then heated later

✅ We provide our customers options!

❌Our vegan offering was not an afterthought and we definitely don’t apply the “vegan tax” to our menu pricing

✅ we also offer vegetarian and gluten free options because we know dietary preferences vary

✅ because our sandwiches are made-to-order, they are customizable and there are SO many amazing sauces and spreads to choose from including our popular house spicy mayo which is vegan

🥑 🍅 🥬 We also offer deluxe options which are fresh veggie upgrades to any sandwich (avocado, lettuce, tomato)

They of course pair perfectly with our house coffees and espresso that we roast ourselves, fresh every week

We make hundreds of sandwiches every week from our tiny little kitchen in our little neighborhood coffeeshop- definitely a few hundred during the weekend alone. Have you tried one? Which one is your favorite?
