This little orange boy was found outside today in the bitter 20-degree cold, crying his heart out for help. And help came in the most beautiful way.

An entire team of dental hygienists heard his tiny voice and simply couldn’t walk away. From 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., between patients and quick breaks, they took turns gently coaxing him out of the bushes, determined to give this little soul a chance. Their compassion truly wrapped around him long before anyone ever picked him up.

I brought him home for an hour to warm him, give him a meal, and let him rest. He curled right into my arms, bright-eyed and trusting, and drifted into the sweetest nap as if he finally felt safe for the very first time.

And before long, one of those wonderful hygienists had already planned to take him straight to the vet after her shift, ready to welcome him into the loving home he so desperately needed.

Today, one tiny orange kitten was saved by a whole circle of caring women who refused to give up on him. And in return, he reminded all of us that small acts of love can change a life in an instant.

A little good news for the heart because we all need that now and then.
