Agave Dogs Rescue Agave Dogs rescues adoptable shelter dogs and finds them loving homes in Oregon and Washington 🐾🐕💚 So we jumped into action and haven't stopped since.

Agave Dogs Rescue was founded in 2017 after seeing constant pleas on social media from shelters and rescuers in Texas and other Southern states for help with their dog overpopulation crisis. Dogs dumped on the side of the road, dogs minutes from euthanasia unless a rescue tagged them, dogs enduring years of hardship and neglect with owners who didn't or couldn't care for them. We knew the Pacific

Northwest had an extensive demographic of amazing dog lovers willing to offer homes and their hearts to dogs in need. Our Mission:
Agave Dogs rescues adoptable, homeless dogs from areas overwhelmed with pet overpopulation and finds them loving, permanent homes in Oregon and Washington. We assist dogs at risk for euthanasia in high kill shelters and strays found on the street by out of state rescuers. “Dillon is my newest foster. Unfortunately, Dillon's owner died and left him and his brother (who is already adopted.) Dillon is a good boy. He gets along well with cats and dogs, is perfectly potty trained, loves walks, sleeping in the sun & being close to me. He’s also good for car rides.”

At 11 months old and 65 pounds, Uma is super social and happy to meet all the humans. She does good with kids too.

Nesta is happiest carrying her ball around and being your affectionate shadow 🎾💗

At 11 months old and 49 pounds, Nesta is super social and all about hanging with people. She does good with kids too.

Need a laid back, couch companion? Dillon could be your guy!

Dillon came to us last week after his owner sadly passed away and he had no where to go. We saw him on a Nextdoor post urgently looking for placement with a rescue or a new home but nothing was coming to fruition for Dillon. So we scooped him up ❤️

Things we love about Dillon:

• Lower energy and happy to hang out
• Content with a walk a day, doesn’t have big exercise needs
• Good with other dogs
• Good with cats - fostered with one
• Potty trained
• Enjoys his walks and isn’t reactive on leash
• Good for car rides and public outings

Dillon is approximately 6 years old and 14 pounds. He needs to lose 1-2 pounds and we are helping him with portion control and walks. He’s an easy little companion dog to live with. Dillon is even getting a dental cleaning so his mouth is all shined up for his new home.

Yoda is hoping to catch your eye and maybe even your heart with his cute smile 🤓

ADOPTED! Temu showed up in the middle of the night as a panicked stray to Mell's Mutts in California November 2025. He was such a scared dog, looking for safety and someone to take care of him. Temu’s previous life had been rough. He was covered in scars and had a shut down spirit.

After a month long board and train with Grit, Grace, and Golden Dog Training in California, Temu built some really solid skills to help him be successful in a future home. He traveled up to us and spent a month in foster awaiting kind people willing to give a shy dog a chance.

Last week, Temu met a wonderful couple who had owned quite a few Dobermans throughout their lives. Temu is a gentle, lower energy, cat-friendly Doberman mix and he checked some really nice boxes for them. We are so happy Temu landed in a home with doting new parents to give him lots of love and a calm home. Congrats Temu! 🧡

ADOPTED! Edwin’s owners had moved out of the country and sadly, Edwin landed in a situation where an elderly person had too many dogs who were living in a home covered inside with f***s and urine. The dogs weren’t allowed outside and soon the home became unsanitary. The local shelter in California was not able to assist. We were able to take Edwin plus six other dogs from the home into our program with the help of Bowe's Animal Rescue who were boots on the ground.

Edwin met his new parents a couple weeks ago and he is so lucky to now get to be the center of attention. He has a dental next week to extract decayed teeth and clean remaining teeth. Poor pup needed a dental to get his mouth feeling better. Happy new life Edwin! 🙌🏼

ADOPTED! Bryce was a tiny puppy that came to us with his sister, Bashful, after being found as strays and taken to a California shelter. Poor Bryce was skinny, worm-infested and he and Bashful looked to have been attacked by a larger dog. Both had scars all over their little bodies.

After a month in foster both in California and Oregon, Bryce finally met his new family and they are having so much fun with him. Happy new life in Oregon Bryce! 💙

Dillon has those big brown eyes that say, “Please love me” 💙

Dillon’s owner passed away recently and he needed a soft place to land because he had no where to go. He’s doing so well in his foster home now though and is enjoying meeting new dog friends, living with a cat (he’s polite towards the cat) and getting to enjoy a fenced yard. Dillon was an apartment dog previously and could likely do well in an apartment setting in his future home.

14 pounds but needs to lose a couple pounds. 6 years old. Nice lower energy and could be happy with a daily walk.
