Hello, September! 🍂🐾

We blinked and somehow ended up in one of our busiest seasons yet — and we are definitely not complaining. 🤍

Behind the scenes at Poppy & Co, we’ve been BUSY:

🐾 Welcoming new clients into the Poppy family
🏡 Keeping up with a growing calendar of pet-sitting visits
🌙 Spending lots of nights loving on our overnight clients
📅 Getting fall trips and upcoming travel dates on the books
🤍 And launching Foster Connect, our newest community project created to help connect fosters, rescues, resources, supplies, and people who simply want to help animals in need.

There is a LOT happening around here right now, and seeing this little business continue to grow into something bigger than I imagined when we started last October is pretty incredible.

And we’re just getting started. 🥹🐾

September is already shaping up to be a busy one, so if you have upcoming travel, weekend plans, or need recurring care this fall, now is the perfect time to get your dates on our calendar!

🐾 Well… it looks like Poppy & Co. Foster Connect & Poppy’s Pantry are starting a little earlier than planned! 🐾

We’ve been quietly working behind the scenes on two new community initiatives through Poppy & Company: Foster Connect, designed to help connect animals in need with fosters, resources, and permanent homes, and Poppy’s Pantry, created to help provide pet food and essential supplies to families experiencing hardship.

We weren’t quite ready for the official launch yet… but sometimes the need comes before the timeline. 💙

Right now, I’m working with a local family who stepped in when several cats were left behind by a neighbor. Those cats have since had kittens, and the family is now caring for 12 cats and kittens total while trying desperately to find help for them.

They are a low-income household and simply cannot continue carrying the financial burden of feeding and caring for this many animals. Their current food supply is expected to run out next week.

So, Foster Connect & Poppy’s Pantry are officially getting their first case a little ahead of schedule. 🐾

This weekend, I’m coordinating with the family to bring food and supplies for the adult cats, begin working on vetting and placement, and I’ll personally be bringing a litter of kittens home with me to foster while we work toward appropriate permanent homes.

And this is where our community can help.

🐱 FOSTERS NEEDED:
We are looking for potential foster families who can temporarily provide a safe, loving home for some of these cats and kittens while we coordinate vetting and permanent placement. Please message Poppy & Company for a Foster Connect application.

🥫 FOOD & SUPPLIES NEEDED:
We are accepting donations of cat and kitten food, litter, and basic cat-care supplies through Poppy’s Pantry to help this family immediately.

🩺 VETTING SUPPORT:
With 12 animals involved, veterinary care will be one of our largest needs as we work toward getting everyone healthy, vetted, and ready for their next chapter. Anyone interested in helping with veterinary expenses or partnering with us on care is encouraged to reach out.

🏡 ADOPTERS:
We will begin sharing individual cats and kittens as they become ready for permanent placement. If you may be interested in adopting, you can message us now to be added to our interested-family list.

This situation is exactly why Foster Connect was created. There are families who want to do the right thing but simply don’t have the resources to do it alone, animals who fall through the cracks, and people willing to help who just need a way to connect with one another.

So apparently we’re doing this. 😂💙
