A few simple precautions can make a big difference in keeping your furry family members safe, comfortable, and happy all season long.

💧 Keep fresh water available at all times
🌴 Provide shade and cool resting spots
🐾 Avoid hot pavement during the warmest parts of the day

Remember: if the pavement feels too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws.

🐾 As someone who has dedicated my career to caring for animals, I love seeing local leaders recognize that animal welfare is a community issue—not just a pet owner issue.

Our shelters, rescues, foster networks, wildlife rehabilitators, and animal care professionals work tirelessly every day, and they deserve support, resources, and strong advocacy.

Animals cannot speak for themselves. They rely on us to create a community that values responsible pet ownership, humane treatment, and meaningful solutions that protect both animals and people.

🐾 Hurricane Season is Here — Is Your Pet Prepared? 🌪️

Hurricane season officially began on June 1st, and while we all think about stocking up on supplies for ourselves, it’s just as important to have a plan for our pets.

Make sure your emergency kit includes:
✔️ Food & fresh water
✔️ Medications
✔️ Leash, collar & ID tags
✔️ Carrier or crate
✔️ Waste bags & sanitation supplies
✔️ Comfort items like toys or blankets
✔️ Copies of vaccination records and important documents

Living on the Gulf Coast, we know how quickly weather can change. A little preparation now can make a stressful situation much easier for both you and your pets later.
