This is Connors story..
This poor sweet boy had a rough start, he was found on 20th St. in Battle Creek, this is a 4 lane busy Street, he was dodging in and out of traffic and nobody was stopping, a couple slammed on there breaks, so not to hit him, and grabbed him and brought him directly to me.
These kind of kittens are considered urgent need and if this couple didn't grab him when they did, he would not have lived.
He couldn't even see and was running in traffic!😮
He had one of the worse URI's I've ever seen and his eyes were so bad, the infection had been layering and hardened, one eye was bulging a bit, he could hardly breath, was severely congested and was skin and bones.
We went right into triage mode, we immediately cleaned eyes, gave bath, put terramycin on eyes, gave antibiotics, covered kennel and got warm air vaporizer flowing in there.
After four days of treatment you couldnt tell it was the same kitten, he had gained weight, was playing, lungs sounded so much better and 7 days later eyes were totally clear.
After 10 day treatment he was a healthy baby boy, but...
Because he was likely traumatized from cars at time of capture, but too sick to act like it, once he got better he was a bit timid.
I think sometimes when you are constantly giving icky meds and putting drops and ointment on eyes they can become a little fearful of you or your hands, but after giving him some time to see I'm a good person and I give him squeeze and temptations treats, he was ok😁
Remember he "was" traumatized by the cars on the road, people grabbing him and us doing what we had too do.
If not for the heros that helped save him Rayne Sams and Jay Slipknot Labarr he would have definitely not survived, he's a lucky little guy❤️🐾
He's still a bit shy, but deserves a good home, he just needs a little time to get to know you.
We would prefer you have a pet friend and/or child for him to play with/ to grow up with.
He loves playing with all the cats and kittens here and is good with kids!😊
He is truly a sweet boy now and I hope someone out there hears his story and gives him a chance to show them he's simply amazing, he's a survivor.
Connor is 16wks old and has been vetted, he is such a sweet little guy!
