When Carl first arrived at HSBC, he spent his first couple of weeks feeling a little under the weather. While he was busy focusing on getting healthy, he wasn't quite ready to show everyone what a wonderful cat he is.

We're happy to report that those days are behind him.

Carl is feeling great, healthy, and officially ready to begin his search for someone to snuggle. 💛

And trust us, this is a cat with serious snuggling ambitions.

At just one year old, Carl is a handsome buff tabby and white boy with striking amber eyes and an endless appreciation for human attention. He loves being petted. He loves being held. He loves being picked up. If affection were an Olympic sport, Carl would be training year-round.

Meet Tiny Tina — the kitten who already has fans.

If you saw the video of our Bob’s Burgers crew a few weeks ago, chances are you remember Tina dramatically rolling over and instantly stealing everyone’s hearts. Honestly, it was a star-making performance.

Tiny Tina is a dilute calico with the perfect mix of awkward charm, sweetness, curiosity, and chaos. She loves to play, explore, wrestle with her siblings, and then suddenly flop over in the middle of everything like she’s exhausted from being adorable all day.

Like her Bob’s Burgers namesake, Tina is delightfully quirky in the best possible way. She approaches life with enthusiasm, curiosity, and just a tiny bit of dramatic flair. Whether she’s chasing toys, climbing around with her siblings, or seeking out attention from her foster family, Tina keeps everyone entertained.

She is currently growing up in foster care alongside her siblings in a home with a young child, helping her become a social, playful, confident kitten who is comfortable with family life and everyday household activity.

We estimate Tiny Tina and the rest of the Bob’s Burgers crew will be ready for adoption the week of June 22nd, although an exact date has not yet been confirmed. However, pre-adoption holds are available now so Tina can roll dramatically right into her forever home as soon as she is ready. ❤️

A healthy gut can make a huge difference in how an animal feels. When dogs are comfortable and feeling their best, they're more likely to play, learn, relax, and show adopters who they really are. 💙

Many of our enrichment treats are made right here at the shelter using simple grocery-store ingredients. We stuff and freeze them into long-lasting lick treats that provide mental enrichment while also adding healthy fiber to support digestive health.

Meet Gene — the resident entertainer of our Bob’s Burgers kitten crew.

Gene is a white and tabby little guy who believes every room is his stage and every toy deserves a dramatic performance. Whether he’s zooming through the house, wrestling with his siblings, climbing into something he absolutely should not be climbing into, or demanding attention with his big personality, Gene brings nonstop fun wherever he goes.

Like his namesake, Gene is goofy, lovable, and impossible not to smile around. He’s the kind of kitten who can turn an empty cardboard box into the greatest adventure ever created.

Gene is currently being raised in foster care alongside his siblings in a home with a young child, where he is learning all about family life, playtime, cuddles, and confidence. He’s growing into a social, happy, playful kitten who is going to bring a lot of joy to his future home.

We anticipate Gene and the rest of the Bob’s Burgers crew will be ready for adoption the week of June 22nd, although an exact date has not yet been confirmed. However, pre-adoption holds are open now so these kittens can head straight into forever homes once they are ready. ❤️

🎾🚨 Our favorite Ball-Retrieving Cavapoo, Ruby would like to address the rumors.

It has come to our attention that some people apparently do not believe Ruby is the undisputed champion of fetch.

Honestly, we're a little offended on her behalf.

Fortunately, Ruby came prepared with video evidence. 📹🐾

This footage was captured during her intake exam. While staff were busy gathering information and completing paperwork, Ruby made an executive decision.

"Okay, that's enough of that."

"The paperwork can wait."

"It's time to play fetch now."

Without hesitation, she helped herself to a toy from a nearby shelf, marched over, dropped it at our feet, and made her expectations crystal clear.

No barking.
No negotiating.
No formal announcement.

Just a ball and confidence.

To be fair, if you had Ruby's fetch skills, you'd probably interrupt meetings to show them off too. 🎾💪

So for anyone questioning her credentials, please enjoy this official documentation proving that Ruby's commitment to fetch is not a hobby.

It's a lifestyle.

🍔✨ Lunch with Linda ✨🍔

This week, we are going to introduce you a bit more formally to our Bob’s Burgers crew. ✨🍔

You may remember the video of this adorable family at the shelter a few weeks ago — where Tiny Tina absolutely stole the show by rolling over in the cutest possible way. Now that we are getting closer to them being available for adoption, we wanted to properly introduce everyone. ❤️

First up is the mama behind the whole operation… Linda.

Mama Linda is an approximately 2-year-old calico who has been through a lot while still managing to be an incredible mother to her babies. When Linda first arrived at HSBC, she was very afraid and unsure of her new surroundings. But even while scared herself, she never stopped taking wonderful care of her kittens.

Since moving into foster care, we have been so happy to watch Linda begin to relax and settle in. The quieter, more comfortable environment has allowed her personality to slowly blossom, and she’s discovering that life can include some pretty wonderful things — soft beds, toys, treats, attention from people she trusts, and time to simply enjoy being a cat again. ❤️

Linda and her kittens are currently being raised in a foster home with a young child, where they are continuing to grow, socialize, and prepare for their future families.

We anticipate Linda and her babies will be ready for adoption the week of June 22nd, although an exact date has not yet been confirmed. However, they ARE available now for pre-adoption holds so they *hopefully* won't have to wast any time moving into forever homes once they are ready.

🎩🐾 Hey guys. Randy here.

I would like to formally apologize.

Apparently I may have gone a little too far in my last post discussing my smooth, sophisticated, worldly ways and refined appreciation for the finer things in life.

To be fair, I am incredibly distinguished.
That part still stands. 💅

However, I would like the public to know that although I am an elegant gentleman with the soul of a retired professor who drinks coffee on rainy mornings while listening to jazz… I also still know how to have a good time.

Because technically, I am still just an 11-month-old kitten.

And sometimes that means the sophisticated façade slips a little.

For example, please see attached evidence of me hanging upside down with my legs in the air like I have absolutely no responsibilities whatsoever. Honestly, I look less like a wise old soul and more like I should be kicked back at a beach resort sipping a tiny mojito. 🍹☀️

Balance is important.

One moment I’m thoughtfully gazing out a window contemplating life.
The next moment I’m upside down wondering if gravity is optional.

That’s range.

So yes, I am still smooth. Still refined. Still incredibly handsome.

But I am also playful, goofy, curious, and very capable of enjoying life’s simpler pleasures, like dramatic lounging positions and bothering my sister Mandy.

A sophisticated man of leisure, if you will. 💙🐾

The world is still very new to the Golden Girls, but every day we are watching them grow a little braver. 💛

Grass between their toes. Toys to investigate. Pools to dip their toes into. Agility equipment to sniff and explore. Safe people to lean on when things feel scary.

These may seem like ordinary moments, but for dogs who spent their lives without the chance to simply be dogs, these experiences are extraordinary.

Watching them discover curiosity, comfort, play, and trust for the very first time is something truly special — and we are so grateful to be part of their journey. 🐾

☀️🐾 Sunny update from one of his biggest fans: this boy is living for Dogs Day Out adventures.

Our sweet 2-year-old lab mix has been lucky enough to spend time out and about with one of our amazing volunteers, and the reports coming back are very clear:

Sunny absolutely loves being outdoors with his people. 💛

Whether he’s exploring, enjoying fresh air, going for walks, or simply hanging out nearby, Sunny is happiest when he gets to share the experience with someone he trusts. He has the kind of easy companionship that makes even ordinary moments feel special.

But perhaps the best part?

After outdoor time and adventures, Sunny is also fully capable of appreciating the finer things in life… like a really good couch nap. 🛋️☀️

This boy seems to have mastered the balance of “let’s go enjoy the day together” and “now let’s relax and recharge side by side.”

Smart, affectionate, and wonderfully connected to his people, Sunny continues to show us more and more of his sweet personality as he settles in.

Honestly, he’s the kind of dog who makes life feel a little brighter just by being part of it. 💛🐾

**UPDATE: our supporters are truly amazing! ❤️

Thanks to an incredibly generous supporter and what may have been the fastest delivery in shelter history, we received enough kiddie pools in record time!

The dogs are thrilled, the splash zones have been restored, and Dorothy's complaint has officially been resolved. 🐾💦

Thank you to everyone who shared, offered help, and keeps finding ways to make life better for our shelter animals. We are constantly amazed by this community!

🚨💔 Pool Emergency 💔🚨

Small (3 foot) Kiddie Pools Needed!

Dorothy has filed a formal complaint.

As you can see, she is standing in what should be a refreshing kiddie pool. Unfortunately, after years of loyal service, our small dog pools have officially reached the end of their careers. We've tried everything—duct tape, patches, double-stacking them, positive encouragement—but the water keeps winning.

The result? A heartbreaking shortage of splash zones. 💦🐾

We're looking for donations of small kiddie pools (around 3 feet across). If anyone has one (or three!) gathering dust in the garage, our dogs would be thrilled to put them back into active service.

Summer is here, and our pups are hoping for a future filled with cool paws, wet noses, and poolside lounging.

If you'd like to donate, feel free to drop it at the shelter. Dorothy and her fellow pool enthusiasts thank you in advance! ❤️
