With the help of his family and friends, including long time breeders Hermann Bl**er and Evelyn Burton, the groundwork has been being laid to establish a breeding program with tremendous vision. Many of the current broodmares can trace their heritage back to generations of Jerland breeding. eeding stallions available today. MPA Giovanni was purchased as a yearling. With patience and foresight, his career has lead him to being not only a National Champion, but also a Leading Juvenile Sire. His sons and daughters are quickly becoming sought after here and abroad. The list of wins at prestigious shows continues to grow. His offsprings continue to accumulate in both the performance and halter arenas.
*Khadraj NA has been a part of the Jerland breeding program for years. His daughter Khenya PGA was one of the first mares to be bred to Giovanni. In the summer of 2007, *Khadraj came to call Jerland home. Recently, the *Khadraj offspring continue to dominate Western Pleasure classes around the country. Khadraj is it the all-time Number 1 producer of Western Pleasure Horses in the world today. His get have also been highly successful in Hunter and Working Western divisions as well. His halter offspring have a way of rising to the top and demanding awe-inspiring prices in the sales department. Khadraj and Giovanni daughters are also highly sought after as incredible broodmares. Not only has the cross between the two stallions been highly successful, but the daughters of the two have become matriarchs for fantastic creations with other great stallions around the world. Jerland's junior stallion is Khaja J. is sired by the immortal Khadraj, out of the Brazilian National Champion, Scottsdale champion, and broodmare elite Promise V. Khaja, a Silver Champion c**t at the Las Vegas World Cup Show, has taken a sabbatical from the halter arena, and is now acquiring performance wins with his friend and trainer Stan White III . Khaja is the last foal of Promise V, and full brother to Reserve National Champion mare Broken Promises PGA and Scottsdale Reserve Champion Junior Western Pleasure mare Promisa J. Not only is his pedigree filled with illustrious relatives and his own personal accolades, but his significance has an incredible sire has also emerged. With only a few foals the continuity of quality is nothing short of spectacular. Last year while visiting Jerland, trainer, breeder and former owner of Khash PGA , Bob Lock said," I believe Khaja will be Khadraj's greatest son". With each new Khaja foal the excitement continues. Over the past 30 years our dogs have been involved in everything from Search & Rescue,
K-9 units (Minneapolis, Ramsey county and St. Paul), theatrical productions, movies,
competitions (US and abroad) in both conformation and obedience, handicap assistance programs, but the vast majority as someone's family pet. The philosophy behind the breeding at Jerland Kennels has been to emphasize three things in our shepherds:
conformation, intelligence, and temperament. A dog, like any valued possession, must be structurally sound. It makes no difference how intelligent a dog may be if he suffers from physical faults. Dogs, like humans, have degrees of intelligence and areas of talent in which they excel. Here too, the temperament of the animal is most important when considering its particular avenue of use. We try to match each of these qualities with the dog's new family. Jerland dogs are now
found in fifty states and over thirty foreign countries. This spans over thirty four years and
six generations of home-bred dogs. Our dream and goal is to provide excellence to each new client. We sincerely believe that
