SOUL Harbour Ranch Animal Therapy Program

It’s was a glorious evening for a sensational sold-out SOULful Sunset Yoga at SOUL Harbour Ranch! Everyone was greeted at the barn by our mini pigs Peaches & Pickles and therapy dog Betty. Everyone then headed out to the back pasture area for an amazing slow flow yoga and sound healing by our wonderful friend Nicole Schneider. Mini donkeys Bugsy & Prancer & mini horses Faith, CreamPuff, Cupcake, Charmer, Dolly & Turnabout aka Mr. Handsome mingled with everyone throughout the session. The weather was perfect, the sunset breathtaking, the animals were calming (and made everyone laugh as they visited very closely!), the yoga was healing, the post-yoga refreshments (thanks Anne!) were fabulous and the camaraderie of everyone so connected! Nicole, thank you SO much for this healing session. Everyone loved it! Kathy, thanks for the beautiful raffle baskets that you made and congrats to our winners. Thanks Bob Lee for the beautiful flowers! And thanks to our wonderful SOUL volunteers for helping out with this fundraiser.

What a fun time at our hometown Barrington’s National Night Out 2025 with everyone saying “Hello Dolly!” 🐴🎶 We met so many amazing friends who visited and professional first responders who keep us safe. Plus, we saw Oliver, our former “puppy with a purpose” now in training as a therapy dog with Officer Sebastian at the Barrington Police Department. He’s gotten so big! 🐶
It was loud, chaotic, crowded and wonderful! The train horn went off and not a flinch. Music by Bob the DJ blared through the speakers as Dolly took photos next to it. The helicopter buzzing everyone? That scared EVERYONE at first but by the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th time, she just stood there, lol. This girl is a rockstar! 🌟 (Watching from Heaven is Grandma Dolly Serafin!)

It’s fun to be a bit corny at the yearly Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital corn roast for staff & families! 🌽 Our therapy horses Sunshine & Unique loved seeing the staff (including our volunteer Vicki Molbeck) who they visit every month, as well as meeting so many new friends.

We love it when our Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association (NISRA) friends visit every month! It was a special celebration since it was Rachel’s birthday today and of course the pigs accompanied on the piano 🤣 💜 Therapy dog Sawyer shared and received lots of love inside the barn, while Faith, CreamPuff, Lunar and the donks were part of the group outside (everyone swapped to make they loved Sawyer).

It’s 8:15am and the Lake County Sheriff is in the driveway…uh oh! 2 horses have been “on the loose” all night, don’t recognize them, but grabbed 2 halters and lead ropes and drove over to where they were hanging out in a backyard. 2 beautiful mares! Put a halter on one and the 2nd said “no way lady” (found out she’s only 3) but she followed so nicely. Brought them in our small pasture and our bigs and littles were immediately smitten! The owner had been looking for them after they opened a fence gate. He and Sheriff Crowley and another neighbor Pam (who brought her horse trailer), haltered them back up, loaded them in the trailer and back home they went. Garth is STILL calling out for them! So happy to help and keep them safe until they went home and SO appreciative of the Lake County Sheriff's Office and Deputy Sheriff Crowley!

More fun at Nashville Nights as everyone loved riding the bull. Kids of all ages had a great time and registered Therapy dog Blu was wishing everyone good luck as they took on the bull.

Everyone was Kickin’ up their boots at Nashville Nights at The Arboretum of South Barrington. Lots of YeeHaws, bull-riding (did anyone make it 8 seconds?!), mini therapy horses Charmer & CinderBella, therapy dog Blu, line-dancing with Kickin' it with Carol, and fabulous music by In The Stix!
