To continue making this program sustainable for the community, we’ve had to make a pricing adjustment.
The cost is now $100 per cat upfront. Here’s why:
During our last two TNR trips, multiple cats turned out to be pregnant or required additional surgical fees (such as being in heat or cryptorchid males). Those extra charges can add $40+ per cat, and up until now, the rescue has been covering those unexpected costs ourselves. Unfortunately, that is not financially feasible long term if we want to keep offering regular TNR services.
So moving forward, the $100 acts as a deposit toward the full potential surgery cost.
✅ If your cat does NOT incur any additional surgical fees:
• The unused portion will be refunded after surgery.
If the cat is:
• Pregnant
• In heat
• Cryptorchid
or has other surgery-related upcharges, those fees will simply be deducted from the deposit instead.
We want to be fully transparent about why this change is happening. TNR is one of the most important things we do to reduce suffering and overpopulation in Brown County, and this adjustment helps ensure we can continue offering transports consistently instead of having to pause the program due to unexpected costs.
