They say if you don’t know any quirky people, you probably are one. Well I love all my quirky writer friends and am proud to be quirky🤪. We cried and mourned the passing of our dear today but then we celebrated a new member by throwing a mini baby shower.
How’d we authors do it?
By gifting mom and dad lots of books - of course!

For those of you don’t know the story, I tried to start a writing club in 3rd grade.
The plan was simple: meet every day at recess and write books!
Those books were simply copy paper folded in half and stapled but the first day I was so excited even if it was just me and my best friend.
The second day when I went to our meeting place it was just me. My writing group fizzled and died then and there.
Fast-forward more years than I care to admit and last week we wrapped up Rough Writers, which is a mentor/mentee program of high school students mentoring fifth grade students.
This new writing club for our whole district has had over 100 members. And they come at 7:20 in the morning! 🥱
I’ve been so impressed with their dedication, patience, and creativity. One even surprised me on our last day with an acrostic for me. Something I’ll cherish. 🥰
So don’t give up on your dreams. You don’t know When or How they will come true.

Do you have a friend that you love to pieces but maybe they flake on you now and then?

Or maybe they make you laugh til your belly hurts one minute and then annoy the snot out of you the next?

Maybe you love the way their brain works until they ask you to borrow something for the tenth time?

Theo is that friend. He’s lovable. He’s frustrating. He’s smart. He’s forgetful. He’s got executive function issues.
