Georgia Mae is in this study and Greenville Mobile Equine Service, PA wants to add more horses.

Super easy bloodwork and she gets a pump of Omega 3 in her feed. She eats it with no problem. Usually by this time of year she has scratched her skin off…literally and had a few vet visits from scratching her eyes. So far so good this year! She’s obviously less itchy and her skin looks great!

We have partnered with Kentucky Equine Research to battle inflammation in our horses from a Nutrition aspect.

We noticed an increasing amount of horses in eastern NC suffering from allergies and laminitis. A great portion of these allergies are in the form of Asthma and/or Skin Funk.

One of our amazing clients connected us with a KER nutritionist to help organize a study of Fatty Acid ratios. Specifically Omega 6 : Omega 3. In short, Omega 6 Fatty Acids are precursors used by the body that correlate with “bad inflammation.” And, Omega 3 are precursors for “good inflammation.” (Please note that statement was very simplified.) Meaning we want more Omega 3 than Omega 6.

We kicked off the study with 20 horses. And we have some SURPRISING results; so much that KER reached out and would like to expand the study. We found that even though our horses have a great diet, their fatty acid ratios are way too high! Meaning, they have high Omega 6 levels.

It will take some time and more horses to determine if there is a potential correlation of High Omega 6 with allergies/laminitis. So, we are inviting you to participate and help with data collection.

About the study:
A presupplement blood draw is needed for initial Fatty Acid testing. And we will have you fill out the survey about diet and exercise. (FREE blood draw on us and FREE testing provided by KER. Trip fees not included, however we will discount them if we are in the area. You can always haul in the office as well.)
Order Omega 3 supplement with a 15% discount once blood drawn. (This is about $100 for 128 servings)
After 60 days of giving the supplement we will pull blood again and be looking for changes. (FREE blood draw and FREE Test.)

That’s about a $600 value for FREE.

We are looking for all horses, any age, even those that seem healthy.
