I hear that all the time.
At home, your dog sits beautifully.
Comes when you call.
Walks nicely through the living room.
Then you step outside.
Suddenly the squirrels are more interesting. Other dogs are more exciting. Every smell deserves investigating. It's like all that training disappeared overnight.
The truth is...
Your dog didn't forget.
They just haven't learned how to use those same skills when the world gets exciting.
That's why Basic Manners isn't just about teaching behaviors.
It's about helping your dog succeed in real life.
We'll gradually build your dog's ability to focus around distractions, make good choices, walk politely, come when called, and work with you even when there are interesting things happening around them.
Because knowing a behavior in your kitchen and being able to do it at the park are two very different skills.
