Four friends, one week at South Camp, and more laughs than they could count.

These ladies stayed with us Monday through Friday. They told us it had been 50 years since they last rode, and that didn't slow them down one bit. They saddled up for a trail ride through the fall colors, enjoyed great food, and spent the rest of the week relaxing.

Every day started in the rocking chairs on the front porch and ended around the fire pit, with plenty of stories in between.

Continuing education, Mountain Creek Ranch style.

A group of physicians from Cox came out to the ranch for their CME (Continuing Medical Education) requirements. Between sessions in Hailey House, they did a little upland bird hunting, spent time at the shooting center, and took a progressive Ranger tour with appetizers and drinks along the way.

Happy trails from Saturday!

We had two groups out for a trail ride on Saturday, and the Ozarks showed off with blue skies and fall color. From creek crossings and wooded trails to the view from the top of the ridge, it was a beautiful day to be in the saddle.

Birthday adventures, ranch style!

The Murphy family came out to Mountain Creek Ranch for a special getaway to celebrate their son's birthday, and they packed in plenty of adventure. They spent lots of time at the shooting range, then saddled up and helped move our longhorns on a real cattle drive through the Ozark hills.

Watching the birthday boy ride right alongside the herd was something special. Happy birthday, partner, and thank you to the Murphy family for celebrating with us. Come back and see us anytime!

What a weekend at Mountain Creek Ranch!

Five different groups came through this weekend, from St. Louis, from Iowa, and from right here at home. They spent their days outside with trail rides through the Ozark Mountains and a cattle drive.

Our favorite part, though, was seeing people who showed up as strangers sit around the fire like old friends by the end of the weekend. That's what the ranch is all about!

This week's casserole is a new one. When I was looking at different recipes, it was called Animal Style Casserole but it is a take on the In-N-Out burger. Lots of cheese, burger, tater tots and I will add some extras like probably bacon. I will put banana peppers on it. If you do not like banana peppers, they can come on the side or none at all just let me know. Also topped with a homemade 1000 Island dressing. Please remember the beef dishes are $2 more per pan than the chicken. Please let me know by 5pm Tuesday if you would like to place an order for Wednesday pick up. Two years ago, Molly and Kevin said “I do” right here at Mountain Creek Ranch.

Last weekend, they came back to where it all began to celebrate their anniversary with a stay at South Camp, a trail ride, and some time to simply slow down and enjoy the ranch together.

There’s something pretty special about watching Mountain Creek Ranch become part of a couple’s story, from their wedding day to the anniversaries that follow.

Happy Anniversary, Molly and Kevin! We loved having you back at the ranch.
