Spots are filling up so here's 4th of July Boarding Info... Hours for drop off and pick up....July 1st-3rd 7:30-5:30. We are closed Friday the 4th. Saturday 5th we're open 8-10 only. Sunday 6th 8-10 or 4-5. All information on what to bring, vaccines needed etc. can be found on our website www.inthedoghouse.net

Some time has went by now since these 3 all went to new homes after being abandoned. Happy to say they all got good homes, and the person that abandoned them has not attempted contacting me in over a month!! Daxon now Briscoe stayed with us a couple weeks ago he has gained weight and was a changed dog now 💕

Taking some time this week to be Grandma so I won't be grooming Wednesday through Sunday. Boarding will go on normally. If your dog was to be groomed while boarding I will have those done. Cole can still answer any calls or texts to make grooming appointments for me 😊🐶

Update on Lizzie...she can't walk a straight line but she can walk! She's starting to try to play. She actually knows her limits she doesn't try to get up on furniture or go down stairs. We'll take 75-80% to the alternative.

With a few groomers in the surrounding areas deciding to try new things we've been getting more calls. Heres answers to alot of the questions ....Yes I am taking new clients, large dogs will take around an hour, small dogs around 30 minutes unless the matting is major or they take more time due to other issues such as age. I will need a copy of the updated vaccinations. I don't like to be booked out over a week so I will add extra hours as needed to stay current. Dog boarding and grooming, Audubon Iowa

Here's another not so normal boarding story. This is Quincey, I got to know him and his owner through grooming. His owner had 2 broken ankles and couldn't drive so I'd go to her house to pick up Quincey and another German shepherd that was just as large, bring them out, groom them and take them back home. I'd done this several times before things didn't go as planned for Quincey. His owner was picked up by ambulance Dec of 2022, she thought someone was checking on him at her home (the other shepherd had passed that fall) so it was just Quincey at the house. She called me mid January 2023 saying she didn't think the person was checking on Quincey and asked if I'd go check. We'd had a blizzard a few days before and arriving at the house there were no tracks in the snow. I went in the house, it was obvious nobody has been in that house in a long time. If you can imagine a large dog trapped inside a house with no food or water...he had resorted to eating boxes and was very glad to see me. He ran right to my car and jumped in I grabbed his cat friend Smokey too. Both are still staying with us almost 1 1/2 years later. His owner has recently got to go home with a nurse there at all times. I did take Quincey to see her last Friday. When the phone rings you just never know...

Update on Lizzie after a setback a few weeks ago she is gaining ground again. She was falling over and having trouble walking again but we're headed in the right direction again. She gets to spend more time out of the kennel now but she has to be careful. She really wants to play with Walter and Jessi but not yet.
