This handsome German Shepherd is Max. Mac is estimated to be a year to 2 yrs old. Max came to us as a stray after being adopted out of animal control. Max is lovable but he takes a bit to warm up. He is your typical shepherd. He picks his person and he loves hard that person. Max is crate trained. House broken. Microchipped and current on vaccines as well as neutered. He is working on his leash manners. He does know several basic commands like sit, stay, wait and leave it. Max is still learning its ok to trust and not all humans are bad. Max likes to play fetch with a ball. He will find all the missing balls in the yard and take them back inside with him. He will dig u til he finds that toy. Max is afraid of the dark when he goes outside to potty at night so someone would need to stay outside with him while he pottys in the dark. If there is a lot of people outside during the day he wont go potty and will bark at the door until someone goes outside with him and tells him it's OK and that he can potty. He will have you walk with him to go out and potty. He does go potty when he is told go potty. He enjoys running around the yard and just being a big baby. He will be dog tested but he seems to be very dog friendly as he tries to play with all the dogs on his way outthe door to potty. We aren't sure about cats just yet we will test him with them as well. Max would love a family to call his own and just have his person to show him that not all humans are bad.. if you would like to foster Max or foster to adopt please send us a message..

This handsome boy is Johnny. Johnny is 4 years old. He was previously adopted with a sibling u til we reclaimed them back due to the adopter neglecting them and not properly taking care of them. Johnny is the last one from his siblings to find his forever home. Johnny is crate trained, house broken, and is a lover all around. Johnny is kid, cat and dog friendly. Johnny was I a foster home for a while with cats and a small dog and he did great. Johnny just wants to be a couch potato and enjoys laying outside soaking up the sunshine. Johnny is current on vaccines for 3 years, microchipped and neutered. Johnny loves to go for walks and just enjoys being with you as much as possible. Johnny is not destructive when left alone he would rather chill out and nap. He is a hige foodie and absolutely loves his treats.. Johnny would love to find his special person that he can grow with. Johnny still believes he is a lap dog. Today was a busy day for us.. we have to keep pushing even through heartache.. today colliope and the 12 babies all got their first deworming. The babies were 2 weeks yesterday.. everyone weighed between 2.9 lbs to 3.9 lbs. Big babies for 2 weeks old.. below is pictures of all 12 babies after being weighed and dewormed.. they seemed to like the flavor of the dewormer. Everyone is doing really good. We also delivered the p*e pads that were donated. The family can't thank everyone enough. Hope everyone enjoys the pictures of all the babies and see how much they have grown..

Today has been incredibly difficult, and honestly, I'm not even sure how to put everything into words.

What I can say is that Aurora is not our only case. Every day, we work with the public to help dumped and abandoned cats through TNR programs, and we assist pet owners who are struggling to afford spay and neuter services for their animals. Helping animals and supporting our community is why we exist.

Right now, however, we are facing a crisis.

We are in desperate need of help paying off our veterinary bills. We work closely with three veterinary clinics that have always been there for us when animals needed emergency care or urgent treatment. Because of their support, countless animals have received the care they desperately needed.

Our current balances are:

• Rush Veterinary Urgent Care: $3,900
• Rush Veterinary Center: $3,400
• Ringtown Veterinary: $2,000

Together, these outstanding balances total $9,300.

These veterinary clinics have never turned us away. When we have had emergencies, they have told us to bring the animals in and they would do everything possible to help. We cannot thank them enough for their compassion and dedication.

Unfortunately, if we cannot get these balances paid, we will be forced to close intake indefinitely. We will no longer be able to take in animals in need or provide the level of assistance we have always offered to our community.

We are a small rescue, and every penny donated goes directly to the animals in our care. Whether it's veterinary treatment, food, vaccinations, medications, nail trims, or other essential needs, your support makes a difference.

We currently have several dogs and many cats in our care. Some are due for vaccinations, and others require routine veterinary services. In addition, we often cover expenses for cruelty cases while waiting for court proceedings, which can take months or even years to resolve. Those costs add up quickly.

If you would like to help, donations can be made directly to any of our veterinary clinics during business hours. We actually prefer donations be made directly to the vets whenever possible. Updated invoices will be posted as soon as we receive them.

We can also accept donations through PayPal or Venmo. If you would like to donate that way, please contact us for information.

As a registered rescue, all donations are tax-deductible. If you would like a tax receipt, simply send us a message and let us know. We are committed to being transparent in everything we do.

If you have ever considered donating, now is the time. Every donation, no matter the size, helps us continue our mission and keeps our doors open to animals who need us.

We are posting this video of aurora for everyone to understand exactly the kind of cases we take on. The cases where everyone else says no and we say yes to.. we apologize for the crying and if its hard to hear but we wanted everyone to understand exactly how bad aurora is and why we had to make the hardest decision for her.. please when we ask for help its not because we want to its because we really do need the help to continue to help cases just like auroras

If anyone wants to donate towards the rest of the bill you may do so by calling Ringtown Veterinary. We will be making a post at some point in detail of auroras life from the day we got her until her last breath... please bare with us as we need time to grieve and find the right words. Right now we are angry, upset, heartbroken and many other feelings all wrapped into one..

Update #2- we are $80 dollars short to cover everything to send Aurora off peacefully. She is currently in the back having a catheter placed.. I held her and talked to her while she drifted off into a peaceful relaxation. She kept reaching for my arm and pulling herself closer to be held tighter.. this is killing me inside... this shouldn't have to be her ending it never should have been... she really deserved so much more rhen the hand she was dealt as a tiny baby....life is cruel and unfair

Update: we are pulling in soon and we are currently $220 short to reach our goal of giving this gorgeous girl peace and a pain-free ever after. The heart break is unbearable 💔...

We are begging the community for your help to give Aurora the proper send off to the bridge. Aurora is on her way to Ringtown Veterinary to be set free of her pain. We really need our community and followers help. This was so sudden and not something we expected. She deserves to be out of pain and free again. This beautiful girl is Isabella.. she is estimated to be a year old. She is current on her vaccines, microchipped and spayed. She is looking for her forever home without any dogs.. she is fine with other cats but she is petrified of dogs. Isabella would love a home to call her own. She is terrified of her current fosters dogs. Isabella takes a bit to warm up because she has to learn she is safe. She will hide for a few days but when she does warm up she is a love and loves to be pet. She isn't a huge fan of being held but she will love hard.. if you are interested in Isabella a foever home please send us a message.

We will be taking her in here shortly. She got to spend the last few days being held and spoiled. She even got to experience the outside world for a little bit. This baby did nothing wrong except being born to a stray who once was someone's pet. She didnt ask for the life or disease she was given and she sure dont deserve to suffer. Today we make the hardest decision we ever have to do. Decisions that should never have to be made but because people feel animals are disposable this is the end result. Please pray for us today as this is already an emotional and very upsetting day.. we are so sorry aurora we couldn't do more to fix you but the reality is you have an unfixable disease... our hearts are shattered and we are not ready to let go but it is the best thing for aurora..

She has an appt for 945 am tomorrow.. please help us give this extraordinary girl the best send off possible.. she deserves nothing but the best.. she can't help that she was born to a cruel world and with people who look at their animals as disposable... pray for her and all of us at Coal Mountain as we have seen the best in Aurora and now we are seeing her at her worst... this is the most compassionate thing we can do for her... my eyes are hurting from crying.. this is the last thing I thought I would have to do for this beautiful girl... please also pray for the staff at the vets office they have been nothing but phenomenal when it has come to Aurora and were always quick to get her seen when there were any issues...

Today is a day and a post no rescue or anyone wants to make... today we noticed our spina bifida baby aurora starting to decline. She was crying non stop and the only comfort she seems to get is being held and wrapped in a blanket or towel. When she was picked up there was a very strong odor of infection coming from her. There was nothing yesterday. So when she was picked up to be held we noticed that her skin is now starting to seperate and p*el from her under body. This is typical and common in spina bifida cats and dogs. They are more prone to sores and infections. Today we also noticed that she has been chewing at her one back paw that we call her dead leg. She has it very raw and swollen. We are going to have to make the decision that no one wants to ever make. But in auroras case it is unfair and very unethical to allow her to suffer and get infection after infection and not have any relief. We are going to have to humanely let aurora go. She has had a life that she wouldn't have otherwise. She would have ended up as predator good or died a very slow painful death out on the cruel streets. She lived longer then what the vet anticipated and expected. Our amazing aurora has made i to 11 weeks old.. her body is tired, sore and hurts all over. It would be selfish of us to ask her to continue on knowing that she is now in constant pain. We will be calling the vet on monday to give her the peace she so deserves. If anyone would like to help us give this precious little girl the peace she needs and deserves please we would be very appreciative. We are going to contact Ringtown Veterinary on monday and see if they can schedule her. We would like to also bring her ashes back as she became a huge part of the rescue and kept us all on our toes.. you can donate directly to Ringtown vet at 570-889-5023

Below are pictures that we just took of aurora sleeping after having her bottom soaked for 10 min. Even something we have been doing since day one is very painful for her now... life isn't fair and its not fair that we need to be the ones to make this decision. Aurora deserved so much better but instead was dealt a pretty scrappy hand from the start... we will be sure she has the best possible send off and be brought back to where she only knows lobe, affection and human touch.. the only place she knows as home...

The generous donation will go a very long way.. thank you so very much.. we also want to thank everyone who has donated p*e pads, blankets, and formula for all of the babies. We knew it was a huge ask but pur community, followers and the public have been behind us to help the family and make sure everyone is safe, healthy and fed.. we are in awe and can't thank everyone enough. There isn't enough thank yous we can give. Everyone has made this a little easier on the family... everyone of you rock!!!
