🐾 A Note from Sugar 🐾

You might remember me from this past fall… I was that scruffy, very pregnant girl rescued from a construction site. A kind man helped me find safety at Coco's Cupboard, and not long after, I gave birth to 5 beautiful puppies. 💕

I was such a good mama—despite everything I’d been through—and now, all of my babies have been adopted into amazing homes. I’m so proud of them. But now… it’s my turn. And I’ve been waiting so patiently for my forever family. 🥹

I’m about 2.5 years old and weigh 37 pounds. I love walks, belly rubs, and hanging out in the backyard. I wasn’t always sure about people or other dogs (can you blame me after all I’ve been through?), but thanks to a gentle foster family and lots of treats, I’ve started learning how to play and trust again. It feels really good to be loved.

I still have a little more learning to do—sometimes I forget how to play nicely with other dogs—but I’m working on it! And I promise to bring so much love, loyalty, and tail wags into your life.

So if you’re looking for a best friend who’s sweet, snuggly, and ready for her second chance… I’m your girl. ❤️

🌟 Thankful Thursday Spotlight: Porcia! 🐾🐶🐱

Meet Porcia—an incredible volunteer who brings heart, humor, and so much dedication to Coco’s Cupboard! 💛

Porcia joined the Coco’s family in September 2021 as part of our SWAG Team—a traveling crew that brings our mission to life at local events. Since then, she’s worn just about every hat: from dog walking and fostering to sewing, baking homemade dog treats, and helping run our onsite Swag Pawlor store. 🧵🍪🐾

What inspired her to get involved? “Meeting so many people from different walks of life wanting to better the lives for hundreds of canines and felines was so cool to me... volunteering was a must.”

She says one of her favorite places to be is the Coco’s schoolhouse:
"Whether it’s a full building (during a service dog training day with hundreds of people) or quietly empty of humans... it’s my fun, safe, and peaceful space."

And she brings plenty of laughs with her too—like the time her 100-pound puppy snuck behind her during class and gobbled up all the training treats while “working on her sit stay skills.” 😆

Thank you, Porcia, for all the love and energy you bring to Coco’s. We’re so lucky to have you as part of the family! 💚🐾

🌟 Where Are They Now: Nyx (formerly Gretchen/Charm) 🌟

Last November, a very special pup named Gretchen—now Nyx—found her forever family, and we recently received the most heartwarming update in time for her first birthday on June 1st! 🎂🐾

Nyx has truly blossomed in her loving home. Once shy and reserved, she’s now a silly, sweet, and affectionate girl who has the heart of an angel. Her family shared how she recently stepped up as the most gentle big sister to their kitten fosters—proving just how nurturing her spirit is.

Her adopters wrote:

“We adore her. She is our precious little girl… Nyx was very shy initially but she is now the most loving, sweetest angel. We’re still slowly building her confidence in crowded areas, but she’s come a long way.”

Stories like Nyx’s remind us just how powerful patience, love, and a second chance can be. Watching her grow into the confident, caring pup she is today fills our hearts with joy and hope—for every animal still waiting for their moment.

🐾 Where Are They Now? Chip & Oakley Edition! 🐾

Double the fluff, double the fun! Chip and Oakley were adopted together in April, and these two are truly living their best lives. From coffee shop hangs to festivals and markets, they’re soaking up every adventure with their amazing new family.

And guess what? They’re actual brothers — DNA verified! Chip is 66% Great Pyrenees and Oakley is 75% Great Pyrenees… and 100% lovable.

We love seeing our rescue pups thriving. Happy tails, boys! 🐶💕

We have another adorable batch of our Coco’s kitties that are now old enough to be fixed & vetted this week and they will make their debut at our upcoming Petco PTC adoption day! Get those applications in as these stunning kitties will not last long!!

Adoption & Application Procedures:
To welcome a new kitty to your furry family, we summarized our Coco’s application procedure below:

Complete our online application at http://www.cocoscupboardinc.org/Cat-Adoption-Application.php.

Our kitty team will review your application and will reach out to you shortly. Please be patient as we are 100% volunteer based.

To ensure a smooth application process, please answer all questions in full with as much detail as possible to avoid delays in your application review. Please note that we adopt our Coco's kitties to families that reside within a 60 mile radius of Peachtree City, GA.

We will require a vet check and that all of your existing pets are up to date on shots & annual vet exams and we also may require a home check.

Once your application is APPROVED, we will schedule meet and greets at Petco in Peachtree City, where we hold adoptions from 12-4pm on Saturdays. Please note that we typically will not let kitties go home on adoption days without an application and check of the above, so please fill out and submit your applications as quickly as possible for us to have the week to review prior to adoption day on Saturday.

Not all of our kitties will be present on Petco adoption days on Saturdays but we keep our Facebook and Petfinder up to date and all kitties posted are currently AVAILABLE for adoption so check back regularly for updates of new kitties posted.
