AthHalf isn't just a race. Every mile you run supports AthFest Educates and its mission to make arts and music education more accessible for every kid in Athens-Clarke County.

The money we raise helps us put more instruments in students' hands, more supplies in classrooms, and more professional development opportunities within reach for local educators.

What makes the AthHalf so special?

It’s the music and good vibes along the course. The challenge of those hills. Running past places filled with memories. And, for so many runners, coming back year after year to do it all again.

What makes the AthHalf so special to you? Let us know!

AthHalf 2026 was one for the books! Thousands of runners from 33 different states descended on on our city this past weekend to run the best half marathon in the south. We saw finishers as young as 12 years old and as old as 75!

Swipe through to see by the numbers. Behind every number is a person who ran, donated, fundraised, volunteered, or cheered. Y'all helped us bring Athens ALIVE, and we sincerely thank you for being a part of it!

Your official AthHalf race photos are ready!

SIM photographed runners throughout the course and at the finish line, and those photos are now available to view, purchase and download. These are different from the race-day gallery we shared earlier.

Find your photos at the photo gallery on our website, or visit this link: https://athhalf.com/resources/photo-gallery/

Once you find your favorites, share them and tag us! We’d love to see!

The AthHalf is more than a race. It's one of the ways Athfest Educates raises money to support high-quality arts and music education for young people throughout Athens-Clarke County. Every dollar you raise helps us put more instruments in students' hands, more supplies in classrooms, and more professional development opportunities within reach for local educators.

We want to give a huge congratulations to our top individual fundraiser, Tim Cailloux, who raised an incredible $1,000 this year! As our fundraising champion, Tim has earned himself a free registration for next year's AthHalf.

We're also celebrating our top fundraising team, the Fig Newtons, who raised a combined $1,021.

Someone called Joseph Minecci “slow” during the first mile of the AthHalf. He took that personally.

Joseph was running in second at the time. By the finish, the former UGA Division I track athlete had kicked into high gear, taken the lead, and become the first person across the finish line this morning. All without headphones.

After stepping away from collegiate running, signing up for his first AthHalf gave Joseph a new reason to keep running. We caught up with him at the finish line to hear how the race went and what advice he would give to future half marathon runners.

Not a bad AthHalf debut.
