AthHalf Half Marathon

AthHalf Half Marathon Experience the best the Classic City has to offer. The race starts in the dynamic downtown area. Pre and Post Race Events will round out the weekend.

AthHalf Half Marathon & 5K are annual road races through historic downtown Athens, GA, beautiful neighborhoods and the University of Georgia Campus, that raise money for AthFest Educates.
2025 dates: Half Marathon Oct. 12, 5K&Expo Oct. 11 As you wind through Athens' historic neighborhoods, through the historic UGA campus and finish up with a fantastic lap around the hedges inside the iconic Sanfo

rd Stadium (home of the UGA Bulldogs). You'll also run right by landmarks straight out of Athens' legendary musical history. The course will be challenging at times, but is well supported with ample hydration stops, energy gels, and lots of fun.

Our Story

The AthHalf Half Marathon packs all that Athens has to offer in a dynamic race course, including a run through historic districts and the University of Georgia campus with live music from local Athens bands throughout the course! And it’s all to help raise money to support music and arts education for K – 8 youth.

AthHalf is produced annually by the nonprofit organization, AthFest Educates, supporting its mission of funding high-quality music and arts programming for youth. When you run the AthHalf, you are directly impacting a child’s access to music and the arts.
