Looking for a dog who will love you with his whole heart? That’s me — Ivan! 🍌🍨

I’m a 1-year-old Staffordshire mix with a heart as sweet as my banana split costume this Halloween! I may be a little shy at first, but once I warm up, I’m all in — ready for walks, toys, adventures, and plenty of cuddle time.

I’m also a proud playgroup member, which means I enjoy making dog friends! With a proper introduction, I can get along great with other pups. To help me keep building confidence, my adoption even comes with a waived enrollment fee for a 6-week Feisty Fido training class with a Woods trainer. It’s a fun way to help me keep learning calm, positive introductions with new dogs.

I’ve got the perfect balance of playful energy and cuddle-loving sweetness — the ultimate treat combo! Come meet me at Woods Humane Society in SLO, seven days a week from 12–4 PM. I can’t wait to meet my new best friend! 💛

Honor the memory of your beloved pet at Hospice SLO County’s Paws to Remember event, hosted at Woods Humane Society on Wednesday, December 10th, from 5–7 p.m.

This free ceremony includes a touching reading of pet names and a slideshow celebrating the lives of our furry friends. You can also receive a beautiful Light Up a Life lantern ornament with a donation supporting Hospice SLO County Pet Peace of Mind program. 🌟

I'm pretty new to the area and could use someone to guide me in this big world, I know I can be quite the companion. Today we celebrate every whisker, purr, and playful paw that makes cats so special. At Woods Humane Society, we cherish every feline who comes through our doors — from curious kittens to gentle, mature cats waiting for a second chance. Each one has their own story and purr-sonality, and all are deserving of love and a forever home. 💕

We’re also proud to care for cats beyond our shelter walls through programs like Project M.E.O.W. which help community cats live safer, healthier lives.
