Knine Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to animal care and protection.

We are a private organization, run solely on donations. We assist shelters and other rescues (both in our area and out of our area alike), and take on word of mouth tasks. Our goal is to promote responsible animal ownership and to assume those responsibilities when others are unwilling or unable to do so. If you are in the DC, MD, or Northern, VA areas, we can assist you in selecting the right pet

We are also available to assist you with any questions or problems you may have concerning your companion and we encourage you to contact us. Placing animals in new homes is a responsibility we take seriously. Our adoption program includes an application form, contract, home visit and adoption donation, used to fund our rescue operations. All persons interested in adopting a pet from us must read and complete the forms. Forms are found our website – www.kninerescue.com

The purpose of our adoption program is to place an animal in a responsible home where it will:

* Receive veterinary care when needed
* Not add to the pet overpopulation problem
* Be controlled so it will not roam free in the neighborhood
* Be happy with its owner and the owner happy with the pet

Okay, hear us out: we have a couple of adorable pups in Virginia who need a ride, and sadly, they can’t download Uber because, you know… no thumbs. 🐾

We’re looking for a kind human to be their chauffeur! Think of it like Uber, except instead of passengers who might spill a latte in your backseat, you get wagging tails, puppy eyes, and zero complaints about the aux cord. 🎶🐕

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review: Nigel, 18 lbs, short legs, 4 years old, neutered

Booked a stay with Nigel. Would absolutely recommend.
• Checked in fully housebroken, zero accidents. Very clean guest, 10/10 bathroom etiquette.
• Got along with everyone at the dog park—big dogs, small dogs, probably would’ve chatted up a squirrel if given the chance.
• Interacted politely with preschoolers at the playground. Honestly, better behaved than some parents.
• A little clingy—follows you from room to room like he’s the unpaid security staff.
• Overnight stay was quiet. Crated himself like a professional traveler and didn’t disturb the peace.

Would definitely host again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

In the last two weeks, we’ve welcomed an incredible number of dogs into Knine Rescue — and with so many new paws. We are desperate for pens and crates right now. These give our foster pups a safe and secure space while they adjust to their new homes.

🔥 Meet Shane 🔥

He’s 12. Housebroken. Neutered. Vaccinated. Great with kids, cats, dogs — basically the unicorn of senior dogs.

So of course… his owners dumped him at a shelter. 🙄 Because apparently loyalty only goes one way.

Shane lost his whole world, but here’s what he didn’t lose:
✅ His chill, easygoing vibes
✅ His ability to make literally anyone fall in love with him
✅ His dream of a couch (preferably yours)

Mama June’s little beans are looking for a crash pad! (Yes, adoption would be the dream, but until then, we need a landing zone.)

Their foster moms have been rockstars—but right now Maverick & Goose (their foster siblings) are heading into major cleft surgery and need all the TLC they can get. That means August & Julian need a place of their own to have puppy chaos in!

✨ 2.5 months old
✨ Pad-trained and will potty outside if you take them out
✨ Sweet, playful, ridiculous little nuggets
