🕛 Tomorrow Only: Meet Our Prison Program Graduates! 🎓

Looking for a dog that's already had a head start on becoming the perfect companion? Tomorrow, Saturday, June 20, from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM, is your chance to meet our incredible prison training program graduates!

These amazing dogs have completed weeks of dedicated training and are:
✅ House trained
✅ Crate trained
✅ Know their basic commands
✅ Well-mannered and ready for family life

Now they just need one thing... a forever home. ❤️

🐶 Already have a dog? Bring them with you! We require a dog meet-and-greet before adopting a dog into a home with another canine companion, so bringing your current dog will help keep the adoption process moving.

📝 To save time, complete your adoption application online before you arrive so we can focus on introductions instead of paperwork.

The best part is that each of these dogs are eligible for 50% OFF their adoption fee thanks to Kendall Foundation Gives Back!

Don't miss this special opportunity to meet some truly exceptional dogs. Come find your new best friend! 🐾

🐶🐾Meet Lil Nas!

Lil Nas is 10 years old and over the whole shelter thing. He's an old man and really just wants to spend his days chilling out with his family for a lazy summer afternoon. Lil Nas is a registered couch potato, and his biggest flaw is that he might take over your bed. But who could say no to him? 🥔

Lil Nas wants out of the APL and into your heart and onto your couch. If you're willing to contribute to his cause and bring him home, we promise you won't regret it. Check him out at https://www.acapl.org/dogs.html #/

This Thankful Thursday, we'd light to highlight one of our wonderful volunteers, Kathy. Here's what Kathy has to say about volunteering with the ACAPL.🐾🌟

"My name is Kathy, and I am a volunteer. I am a transplant from upstate New York-- I moved to a hobby farm in Dorset in 2018, and I am a retired nurse. My hobbies revolve around helping at my church, working with my animals, and gardening.

I started volunteering at the APL after dropping a cat off the be neutered by PetFix. I saw a poster that said they needed volunteers and asked for more information. Melinda answered my questions and scheduled an orientation for the very next Saturday. There are a lot of things I have done: I have walked dogs, washed dishes, done laundry, and played with cats. I now mostly do transport. I pick up animals that need to go to the vet, to be groomed or even go to another rescue.

I never realized how much help is needed to give the animals a good quality of life while they are waiting for their forever homes. The best part of what I do is when I am transporting a dog and it is sitting on the seat next to me looking out the window wagging its tail, and you know it is enjoying the ride. I would tell anyone who is new to volunteering that there are so many things to do at the APL. If you like cats, let them know and you can work in the cat room. If you like little dogs there is something for you also. You can make a difference, just give it a try! I hope that someone reading this will volunteer. It is easy go to the website and click the link to volunteer."

Thank you, Kathy, for dedicating your time to helping the animals at the Animal Protective League! 🐱🐾🐶

This Wish List Wednesday, Sequoia is kindly asking for the following items to help out her friends here at the APL. 💫✨

We’re really in need of:
- Purina One canned dog food
- Canned cat pate! All wet food is helpful, but pate-- not shreds or chunks-- is especially necessary for kitten season.

Our full wish list can be found at our website https://www.acapl.org/donate.html #/ . Donations can also be made in person and dropped off at the APL during business hours https://www.acapl.org/contact.html #/

Interested in bringing Sequoia or one of her friends home? Head over to our website and see our adoptable pups! https://www.acapl.org/dogs.html #/

Sequoia would like to thank you for your support!

Meet Eli. 🐶🐾

Eli loves nature and is happiest when exploring on a 3-5 mile hike. At home, you can find him snoozing next to a window in a sunbeam. Eli is incredibly polite and hasn’t needed to be crated at night. When home alone, he patiently takes a nap and waits for your return. Eli recently graduated from the Chill! class at Cold nose Companions, making him a certified Good Boy. 🌟

Eli’s wonderful foster has told us that he has a wonderful zest for life. If you are interested in adopting Eli, visit https://www.acapl.org/adoption-application.html #/ to fill out a match form. ❤
