Meet Lily! 🐾🐕

Lily is six years old and has been with us for over a year now. Despite the hard times she has faced, Lily has remained sweet and playful. Lily is a staff favorite, and, as you can see, is a huge fan of playtime and enrichment!

Unfortunately though, Lily has begun to struggle in the shelter environment. She's been a little overwhelmed and anxious, and is really hoping to finally get out of here and into a furever home.

Lily's ideal home is one that is calm and peaceful with adult humans only. She can be a little shy and skittish while she gets to know you, and would be very appreciative of a family that will take it slow while everyone gets to know each other. After that? You'll find yourself with a best friend that would love to chill on the couch eating popcorn wearing matching sweaters, or spending an afternoon in the backyard sniffing around and watching the world go by. 💜

Meet Maple! 🍁🐶

This sweet girl is two years old and in desperate need of her furever home.

Maple has been in foster for a while now, and has come such a long way since being outside of the stressful shelter. If you're looking for a dog who will run and play with you for hours, and then end the day snuggling on the couch, Maple is your girl. 💜

Unfortunately, Maple's foster will no longer be able to keep her beginning in November.

If you're an adult only home with a fenced in yard, Maple will just be in heaven. She's been with us for way too long, and we are afraid that she will start deteriorating again once she returns to the shelter, as she was seriously struggling to the point of injuring herself before she went to stay in a home.

Maple isn't so sure about other dogs and would prefer to be the only dog in the home. Once she settles in, she'll be your best friend for life.

Maple has a reduced adoption fee.

Happy Halloween! 🎃👻

The pups here at the APL are so excited about tomorrow, and we're sure you are too!

Holidays are tons of fun, but it's important to remember how to stay safe. Here are a few tips on how to keep your furry friends happy and healthy this Halloween!

🐾Never share people food. Halloween treats are so much fun, but many can be dangerous for your pets. Stick to the puppy chow!

🐾Consider keeping your pets in a separate room away from the front door to reduce stress and risk of an escapee

🐾Supervise your pets at all times when they are wearing costumes

🐾Keep dangerous decor out of reach, including candles and electrical cords

Calling all brindle lovers! We know you're out there! 💜🐾

Please meet gorgeous Olivia. She came to the shelter earlier this year with 2 puppies in tow. Of course, her puppies were adopted, but Mama Olivia is still waiting. She's really just a puppy herself ready to be part of a family and enjoy life. Olivia just went to a foster home this week but here's what we've learned so far:

🐾Good with the resident dog AND cat
🐾Good with humans including children (more comfortable when she initiates contact)
🐾Has fun with a flirt pole
🐾Likes pig ears and other chew treats
🐾Medium - high energy
🐾Housebroken
🐾Enjoys walks/hikes

Mama Olivia will be at the shelter available for walk ins all day Friday and Saturday. If you want to get the ball rolling now, you can fill out an adoption application online.

Meet Ramsey! 🐾🐶

Ramsey is only just over a year old and has all of the snuggly puppy energy anyone could want. Ramsey has been doing well with other dogs, and is easy to handle. She's really just happy to see you, and won't hesitate to accept all of the affection and pets that she can get. Ramsey knows no strangers and would love to find a home where love is on tap and she can always be at someone's side for every activity. 💜
