A Labor Day relfection...

A few months ago, I awakened close to 6am to ensure that two dogs who take a number of medications received those medications and were let out to relieve themselves. This allowed their mom to attend the wedding of a dear friend. The friend really wanted my customer to attend but the dogs’ health concerns were prohibitive. After caring for the pups, I proceeded to McDonald’s where I purchased two fresh hot cups of coffee and two delicious breakfast sandwiches for my friend and me. I, then, surprised my friend with breakfast. We had a wonderful chat about all of life’s happenings.

People who never met and some who met only in passing were all affected by the actions of others--as is often the case in life. Because I got up on time and provided needed medication to two dogs, my customer was able to make her friend happy by attending the wedding. Because the team at McDonald’s did their job with care and precision, I was able to surprise my friend and we enjoyed a lovely visit. Had I not done what I did, the client would have been at the wedding stressed and/or planning an unexpected return home. Her friend would have been very disappointed. Had the person making the coffee or the team assembling the breakfast sandwiches at McDonald’s not done their job with care and accuracy, my friend and I would probably have been talking about the substandard breakfast and not have enjoyed our time together as much as we did.

All jobs are important regardless of how big or how small. All jobs are “real.” Whatever you do, from walking dogs to flipping burgers to running a Fortune 500 company, remember to do it with passion. Do it with care. Do it right. It matters! Happy Labor Day

It is moments like this one that have made the last 14 years so enjoyable. On Monday, Around Midnight Pet Services LLC celebrated 14 years in business! Many many thanks to all of you who have let us into your homes and made us a part of your family. Your continued loyalty and trust is much appreciated. I am living a dream.

Over the course of the last 14 years, my team and I have been asked to provide care to other members of your family—the ones who do not have fur.:-) We are touched by your trust and when possible, we were happy to assist. I recently had the pleasure of visiting my nephew for his 3rd birthday in Los Angeles. We love our dogs here in Virginia, but I think Los Angeles may have us beat. Dogs were everywhere! Outside the coffee shop and walking with their pet parents was to be expected, but the grocery store? I had to take this picture.

My customer sent this to me one Friday in December. I told her that was a more accurate depiction of my year... 2017! Here it is 3 days until March 1st 2018. It seems this picture will be an accurate depiction of 2018 as well.

I look like these guys as my cell phone saga continues. This morning the phone died completely while I was working to free space as the technical support representative suggested. Well...freeing space did not work. So, I am switching cell providers and phones. Stay tuned...

Please be advised that I have been made aware that my cell phone is inconsistently receiving messages. I have been working with my cell provider (apparently to no avail) to solve the problem. I may soon be switching providers to remedy this problem. In the meantime, please CALL if you do not get a response to a text. Whatever problem we were experiencing with email seems to fixed itself. * The sidewalks and streets are too hot to walk on and will burn paws.
* Always at risk are senior pets, brachiocephalic breeds, (frenchies, bullies, pugs, boxers) and those with chronic medical conditions, long haired or full coated dogs. But any pet can overheat!
Please protect your pets in this weather. HEAT STROKE and BURNS are preventable, and a heat related death is a tragedy. We want our TLC Family of pets and friends around for a long time! STAY INSIDE ❤️

Well, I am back from vacation and settling into my routine. As you can see, I found a dog while I was away. No, I did not bring her home with me. She did follow me up the stairs from the beach to the house where I was staying. I had an awesome time. Now, I am looking forward to spending the summer with my furry friends. I do hope to return to Turks and Caicos again. It is absolutely breathtaking.
