After 28 years, pit bulls are officially welcome in Prince George's County, Maryland, today (February 2, 2026).

On November 28, 2025, the PG County Commission passed CB-97-2025, which:

🐾 Removed § 3‑185.01 from the county's Animal Control Code, which prohibited "pit bull–type terriers" from residing in Prince George's County,

🐾 Strengthens penalties against dogs that are deemed dangerous regardless of breed,

🐾 Allows people to register pit bulls in the county, and

🐾 Allows adoptions of pit bulls them from county animal shelter after meeting certain requirements.

Also going into effect today is a pilot program allowing previously banned pit bull-type dogs to be fostered from the county animal shelter, provided participants meet certain requirements.

While the bill does not completely repeal breed specific legislation in Prince George's County, make no mistake, THIS IS PROGRESS.

After 28 years and tens of thousands of innocent dogs euthanized in Prince George's County due the ignorance and fear-mongering created by breed discrimination, today marks an INCREDIBLY HUGE step in the right direction.

Thank you, Prince George's County, Maryland, for finally acknowleding there is no such thing as an "inherently dangerous" breed of dog.

Dogs are individuals, and ANY DOG, regardless of breed, can pose a danger in the hands of an irresponsible, reckless, or negligent owner.

✨ Welcome to the Woofs Of Wisdom Dog Training Pack, Muffin! ✨

This sweet girl just joined our Home Schooled Pup Program, and I’m already so obsessed with her drive to learn. Muffin’s mom brought her to us to work on basic obedience, socialization, and an introduction to therapy training, and she’s been absolutely crushing it from day one 🐾

With a busy schedule running an Orthopelvic Center, Muffin’s mom wanted a program where her pup could still get consistent, structured training without the stress of doing it all herself — and that’s exactly where Home Schooled Pup comes in. I handle the training, and she gets detailed notes, videos, and guidance so Muffin’s progress continues seamlessly at home.

Muffin is a FAST learner, incredibly engaged, and already showing so much potential. I’m so excited to continue shaping her skills and watching her confidence grow every single week.
