I can’t decide if I love it or hate it, but I’ll still help carry it inside so it doesn’t get lost. So it must be a thumbs 👍 for now.

I was 6 years old when I developed IVDD followed by Myelomalacia. Myelomalacia is a devastating and irreversible condition where the spinal cord dies and softens due to severe trauma, typically a herniated disc (IVDD). It affects roughly 10-15% of dogs with acute grade 5 spinal cord injuries. The condition is progressive. Within a week after the initial injury the paralysis will spread up the body, affecting front limbs, and then the respiratory system. Myelomalacia is usually fatal in 99.9% of cases, leading to recommendations for euthanasia to prevent suffering a death by suffocation.

Many of my followers don’t know I’m not only an IVDD warrior of a Myelomalacia survivor. A day or two after my initial injury it was determined I had developed Myelomalacia. The paralysis had started spreading and I was becoming weak in my front right leg. The neurologist said in extremely rare cases the paralysis will stop spreading and she would typically go ahead and recommend euthanasia but the only thing giving her pause was my bright affect and my heathy appetite. Fortunately the paralysis did stop though I became weaker in my right leg and my vocal cords had be affected (my bark was like a whisper, and still now it’s 1/2 as loud as it used to be).

Next month I will be my 4 year anniversary of the scariest and most painful time in my life, but as the neurologist said, I’ve remained to have a bright affect and healthy appetite 😋. So I’m here to remind everyone that you never know what life is going to throw your way. So smell the flowers and keep on rolling… and you’ll find a treat or two a long the way 😉

Also, a huge thank you to for my awesome wheels! My life wouldn’t be the same without them!

5 weeks ago I had a large infected cyst removed from my back leg. Since I’m paralyzed back there I had no idea that I had an incision that needed special care. Instead while in the house I was scooting around and doing zoomies on it. End up ripping out stitches and having to get staples. Mommy started giving me extra time outside in my cart so I’d be more tired in the house and wouldn’t be scooting around on my incision as much. I’m happy to say the incision is now healed and looking great! 😁

Thank you for all your amazing work and support 💕

Our apartment complex got a dog park! II still prefer to chase after my toys on pavement because these wood chips slow m down, sam as grass, but it’s nice to at least have a safe place to explore off leash.

Mommy recently saw a video of a corgi getting it’s nails trimmed. It was in some kind of hanging contraption and muzzled. Poor corgi looked so traumatized. I’m here to let paw parents know that nail trims don’t have to be traumatizing! It just takes patience, love, and a lot of treats.
