As a kennel technician, you will have a profound impact on animal welfare, making a real difference in the lives of animals and their devoted owners.
A veterinary kennel technician is responsible for providing exceptional care and ensuring the well-being of animals, as well as maintaining a clean and safe hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities include: 🐶~Animal Care: Providing daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and ensuring clean living spaces. 🧹🧽~Cleaning and Sanitizing: Maintaining the cleanliness of kennels and common areas by regularly cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing to prevent disease spread.
🧺Laundering of towels, surgical drapes, aprons, smocks, etc.
👀 ~Health Monitoring: Observing animals for signs of illness or distress and reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
🧽 ~Cleaning waiting area/lobby, offices, bathrooms
Qualifications include: ~Experience: Previous experience working with animals is preferred, but comprehensive on-the-job training is provided.
~Skills: Strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work well with animals and people are essential.
Additional Information: ~Physical Requirements: The role may involve lifting animals and performing physical tasks, so good physical stamina is vital.
