While we hate to miss seeing everyone at the Appomattox Farmers Market tomorrow, we sure are thankful for this rain! 🌧️ After the dry weather lately, the plants, trees, and gardens really needed it.

Due to the weather, tomorrow’s farmers market has been cancelled. We appreciate everyone’s support and hope to see you all again soon! 🌱😊

🐣 Standard Cochin Chicks Available 🐣

These fluffy babies are just a few days and still require some heat at night. We also have some older ones that are off heat and some full grown laying hens.

Standard Cochins are known for their calm, gentle disposition and make wonderful backyard flock additions. As adults, they grow into large, beautifully feathered chickens with feathered legs and a very friendly nature.

🥚 Average egg production: around 150–180 medium brown eggs per year
🐔 Size: Large fowl breed — hens typically 8–9 lbs, roosters 10–11 lbs

Perfect for families, hobby flocks, or anyone wanting sweet, eye-catching birds! Message us for availability.

Loaded up the truck tonight and moved another round of plants out to the field! 🌱🚛

Purple coneflower, Tennessee coneflower, Monarda, and a few spirea are officially settling into their new growing space. We wanted to get everything planted ahead of the upcoming rain and give them a good start in the field.

It’s always exciting watching these little plugs grow into strong, field-grown plants that will eventually be headed to gardens, pollinator patches, and market tables.

The pollinators are going to love this mix — especially once the Monarda and coneflowers start putting on a show. 🐝🦋

A lot of work goes into these late nights and plant moves, but seeing the nursery continue to grow makes it worth it.

Tomorrow, at the Appomattox Farmers Market T***s Creek will be bringing a selection of plants chosen with our current dry conditions in mind. We know many gardeners are looking for plants that can handle heat and periods of drought while still supporting pollinators and adding beauty to the landscape.

We’ll primarily have drought-tolerant selections available, including:
• Rattlesnake master (native)
• Blue grama grass (native)
• Coreopsis (native)
• Yarrow (native white)
• Red hot poker
• Narrow-leaf mountain mint (native…the cover photo is our mother plant in the field)
• Thyme

These plants are tough, resilient, pollinator-friendly, and well suited for low-water gardens once established. Stop by and see us at the market tomorrow morning! 🌿☀️🐝

Unfortunately we won’t be able to make the Appomattox Farmers Market tomorrow, but we will be available tomorrow afternoon and evening by appointment for any last-minute Mother’s Day gifts! 🌸

We still have plenty of beautiful plants and potting soil available here at T***s Creek. Message us to set up a time to stop by!

Happy Mother’s Day weekend everyone 💐
