Today is Heat Awareness Day, and with summer just around the corner, it's a great time to brush up on how to keep your pets safe in the heat! π‘οΈπΎ
Here's what to watch for and what to do:
Never leave your pet in a parked car. Temperatures inside a car can become life-threatening in just minutes.
Check the pavement before walks. If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws.
Know the signs of heatstroke: heavy panting, excessive drooling, lethargy, vomiting, or confusion. If you see these signs, cool your pet down and contact us immediately.
Always have fresh water available, especially outdoors.
