With temperatures rising it’s important to remember that pets can overheat quickly!

To help keep your pets safe this summer:
• Avoid walks during the hottest parts of the day
• Always provide fresh water and shade
• Be careful with hot pavement, it can burn paw pads
• Never leave pets in a parked car

Signs of heatstroke can include excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting or collapsing. Some pets including brachycephalic breeds, seniors, and overweight pets may be at an even higher risk!

With summer coming up, more pets go missing than people realize. Fireworks, storms, vacations, guests coming over, and open doors can all be enough for a scared pet to go outside.

Microchipping is quick, simple, and lasts a lifetime. Collars and tags are important, but they can fall off or break. A microchip stays with your pet forever and can be scanned by shelters and veterinary clinics to help identify your pet and help them get home.

Even indoor pets can get out unexpectedly - a microchip adds an extra layer of protection!

Already microchipped? This is a great reminder to make sure they are registered and your contact information is up to date!
