Let’s talk geriatric pets. What products or changes to your home have made your senior’s life better?

Senior pets need more than just cozy beds to make it through their golden years comfortably. Here are some recommendations that have helped support this senior as he has aged:
• Dasuquin with ESM for joint health
• Hill’s j/d for mobility
• Home environmental changes like:
- multiple strategically-placed orthopedic beds (even sometimes “double deckers,” like shown here!),
- non-slip surfaces, and
- kids play cushions as steps
- calming scents, brain games, & routine
• Senior checkups with bloodwork every 6 months to catch any changes
• consults with our vets to implement behavioral meds to help with sundowning, pacing, restlessness, etc.

Getting old isn’t easy, but with the right care, it can still be good. If you’re seeing changes in your senior pet, call us to set up an appointment. Comfort and quality of life are always worthy of a conversation. ❤️

Meet Potato!!! Potato is one of our newest clients, a 12-year-old tabby who was recently adopted by her owner from the Huron Valley Humane Society. She came in this week so we could help determine why she has not had much of an appetite. Even Potato's gotta eat!! And preferably not a potato, please.

This is one of our clients Rose and her 7 year old pup Wink (who just happens to be blind in 1 eye and completely deaf) and they came in for a
"Happy Visit" to continue fostering his positive association with coming to the clinic. Turns out the Happy Visit was more for us than for him, considering the happiness his tricks brought us. 😂

We are proud to announce that CCAH has for the ninth year been certified as an official “Santa’s E.L.V.E.S.” (Emergency Landing and Veterinary Expert System) location.
In the event that Santa’s reindeer team needs to make an unscheduled Christmas Eve stop for sled repairs, refueling, or veterinary care, our team will be available to provide needed assistance and ensure a safe and on-time delivery of Santa’s cargo.
