Since 1952, Haven Humane Society has cared for lost, homeless, and abused animals in the Redding area.

Over the years, Haven Humane Society's services have expanded to include a spay/neuter hospital and Morgan Adoption Center as well as community outreach and education to help make animal abuse and neglect a thing of the past. Community Guidelines:

We’re heading to PetSmart on Hilltop this Saturday, 6/27, for a special Adopt Joy event! All our pets at PetSmart this day will have $25 adoption fees!

Stop by to learn about the adoption process, ask questions, and maybe find your new best friend.

Poppy: 0

This sweet 2½-year-old Shepherd mix came to us matted down to the skin and full of fox tails, which meant her luxurious coat unfortunately had to go. The before & after is, admittedly, a little jarring.

Thankfully, Poppy's peppy personality remained completely untouched. She's still a playful, affectionate goofball!

It was important to let adopters know that this “freshly peeled” look is only temporary. In time, she’ll grow back into the majestic floof she was always meant to be.

✨ Camp Love-a-Pet Adoption Event This Friday! ✨

Our campers have spent the past two weeks helping shelter dogs build confidence and learn new skills, and now it's time for these pups to find their forever homes!

📍 Branch House Riverfront Bistro by the Sundial Bridge

⏰ 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Come meet our Camp Love-a-Pet dogs as they show off their:
🐾 Basic obedience
🐾 Leash skills
🐾 Fun tricks
🐾 Adorable personalities

💙 Adoption fees are just $25!

As of today, these six Camp Love-a-Pet dogs are available for adoption! If you can't make it to Friday's event, or you just can't wait to meet them, call (530) 241-1653 to schedule an appointment this week.

Please note: Dogs will not be able to go home directly from the event, but adopters can pick them up the following day, Saturday, June 27 after 11 AM. That gives you plenty of time to pick out a new bed, some toys, and maybe a few treats before welcoming your new best friend home. 😉

🐱🎉 FREE Feral Fiesta Day This Thursday! 🐱🎉
Bring your neighborhood feral cat to our Veterinary Hospital on Thursday morning for Feral Fiesta Day! We will spay or neuter up to 50 cats.
✨ The June clinic is FREE thanks to the generosity of Northstate Cat Coalition and Raining Cats N Dogs We are so grateful for their support in making this possible. ✨
Please remember this is for stray, non-pets ONLY. All cats receive an ear tip. Cats MUST be in a wire cat trap, —the minimum size is 10” wide by 12” tall, and the trap must be in safe working order.
We also offer low-cost TNR spay & neuter services for up to 7 feral cats per day. Offered Monday through Thursday on a first come first serve basis starting at 7:15 AM. $45 per cat without vouchers. Full and partial vouchers are limited but currently available.

⭐️ Foster Feature: Best Boy Baxter! 😍

Baxter is a 2-year-old shepherd mix currently thriving in foster care, and he’s proving every day what a great companion he is.

This happy, friendly boy fits right in wherever he goes. He’s done well with other dogs he’s met, is comfortable around cats, and loves being part of the action. His foster mom often takes him out and about, and Baxter is a total star in public, riding along calmly and greeting the world with an easygoing attitude.

He’s playful, crate trained, and always up for a car ride or a new adventure. Baxter has that “go anywhere, do anything” kind of personality that makes him such a joy to have around.

In short, he’s just a really good boy who would make a wonderful companion for just about anyone.

Baxter is currently being babysat at the shelter while his foster family is away, so if you’re interested in meeting him, come by and say hello tomorrow! Otherwise, call us at (530) 241-1653 to schedule a meet-and-greet!

Our Pet of the Week Is a Camp Love-A-Pet Superstar!

Rusty is an 11-month-old chocolate Lab mix who weighs about 50 pounds and is everything you could want in a puppy: playful, goofy, smart, and always ready for fun. Rusty LOVES squeaky toys, enjoys earning treats, and approaches life with the kind of excitement that makes every day an adventure.

Rusty is currently one of our incredible Camp Love-A-Pet dogs, where he's working with two young campers on his basic obedience, leash walking skills, and even learning a few fun tricks. He's been a star student and an amazing partner for his campers.

Most of the time Rusty is all wiggles and tail wags, but when he's extra excited, this expressive pup isn't afraid to add a little vocal commentary to the fun. He's done wonderfully with all kinds of people and has gotten along well with the other dogs he's met so far. Whether your family is active, adventurous, or just looking for a loyal best friend, Rusty could be the perfect fit.

Rusty is just one of seven Camp Love-A-Pet dogs currently looking for their forever homes, and all of them are working hard alongside their campers to learn new skills and tricks.

✨ Adoption fees for Rusty and all Camp Love-A-Pet dogs are just $25 through next Saturday!

Rusty will be ready to go home with his new family after our Camp Love-A-Pet Graduation Ceremony next Saturday after 11 AM.
