Since 1952, Haven Humane Society has cared for lost, homeless, and abused animals in the Redding area.

Over the years, Haven Humane Society's services have expanded to include a spay/neuter hospital and Morgan Adoption Center as well as community outreach and education to help make animal abuse and neglect a thing of the past. Community Guidelines:

Reserved, low-key, uneventful... probably not the words Boots would use to describe himself. This 2-year-old, 60-pound Husky mix is friendly, full of personality, and has done well with other dogs. He’s got energy to spare and would love a family who can match his pace!

Come meet Rosie, Edgar & Allen at PetSmart in Redding today from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM!

Rosie is a 3-year-old hound mix who weighs about 50 lbs. She is sweet, spunky, and playful! She loves to be pet and gets super wiggly and smiles! She has done well with many other dogs at the shelter. Her adoption fee is $75.

Edgar and Allen are two-month-old mixed-breed pups who we estimate will grow to be medium sized dogs. They've been around other dogs and cats. They are loud, rowdy, and untrained puppies! Their adoption fees are $135 each.

All our pets go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and have age-appropriate vaccines!

🎉 BIG NEWS: CAMDEN’S 234-DAY WAIT IS OVER! 🎉

After more than seven months in the shelter, Camden, our longest in-shelter resident, FINALLY found his forever home last Saturday!! ❤️

Camden came to us needing a LOT of help. He had plenty of energy, plenty of opinions, and very few manners. But our volunteers stuck with him, worked with him, and gave him the time he needed to become the dog we knew was in there all along. Eventually, he figured it out. 😉

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported Camden and helped give him the time and second chance he needed. Because of you, dogs like Camden get the chance to find the right family.

We’re really going to miss having him around, but we couldn’t be happier knowing he’s finally home. ❤️

Pixie is still figuring out her place in the world, but as you can see, she’s already figured out that belly rubs are pretty great. 💕

This sweet 2-year-old shepherd mix can be a little shy at first, but once she warms up, she’s a fun little girl who loves affection and has plenty of personality to share. She just needs someone willing to give her a little time to come out of her shell.

A few things to keep in mind:
• This is a walk-in event, so come early if you have a particular pet in mind!

• If you have a dog at home and are adopting a dog, please bring them along to meet their potential new sibling.

• If you have kids at home, they’ll need to come meet the new family member, too!

• Our team will be working hard to help everyone as quickly as possible, but there may be a wait during busy times.

• Licensing fees for dogs may still apply.

Limited Spots Available: Special Spay/Neuter Clinic!

Haven Humane is partnering with Animal Balance to bring a special MASH Clinic to the area! This large-scale event will provide 200+ low-cost spay/neuter surgeries for dogs and cats over one weekend: September 18, 19 & 20.

Spots are filling up quickly, and availability is limited by surgery type. As of today, we still have appointments available for:

🐶 12 Male dogs under 40lbs
🐶 12 Male dogs over 40lbs
🐶 3 Female dogs Under 40lbs
🐱 20 Male cats
🐱 2 Female cats

💙 Clinic Pricing:
• Male dog: $215
• Female dog: $250
• Male cat: $115
• Female cat: $165

This clinic is exclusively for Shasta County residents. Appointments are required.

Please note: We’re unable to accommodate dogs over 90 pounds or brachycephalic breeds (short-nosed dogs such as bulldogs and pugs).

Our shelter is FULL, and tomorrow, all adoption fees are COMPLETELY SPONSORED for pets at our Morgan Adoption Center AND at our adoption event at Branch House Riverfront Bistro, thanks to the ASPCA®!

We have animals of just about every size, age, shape, and personality waiting for homes. Small dogs, big dogs, puppies, older dogs, cats, kittens, and even a bunny and a pig. We’ve got a little bit of everything!

A few things to know before you come:
🐾 Adoptions will be first come, first served, so if there’s a specific pet you’re hoping to meet, please come early!

🐾 Keep an open mind! We know it’s easy to fall in love with a particular pet, but sometimes the animal you came to meet may not be the best fit for your lifestyle. That’s okay! Our adoption team will help you find a pet who’s a great match for your family.

🐾 Please expect a wait. We’re expecting a busy day, and our team will be working hard to help everyone while making sure each adoption gets the time and attention it deserves!

🐾 Come ready to adopt! This event is for committed adopters who are prepared to take an animal home that day if they find the right match.

🐾 Please consider the cost of pet ownership. While adoption fees are covered, your new pet will still need food, supplies, veterinary care, and more!

🐾 Bring the whole family! If you have a dog at home, please bring them along for a meet-and-greet. Children in the household should also come meet the potential new family member.

🐾 Dog licensing fees may still apply.
