It’s SuperZoo week!

I’ve been going to SuperZoo since I was about 12 years old, back when it was still held in Long Beach! From going with my mom, to eventually exhibiting with our own King Wholesale booth, this show has been part of my life for a long time.

We’re taking a year off from exhibiting this year, but I’ll still be in Vegas and I’m excited to see everyone!

A quick King Wholesale website update:

We completed a major website update last night to improve several features and make ordering easier. Unfortunately, we are experiencing more glitches than expected, particularly during checkout.

Please know that we share your frustration. Our full IT team is actively working through each issue, and we are doing everything possible to get the website running smoothly again.

If you are building an order and have trouble checking out, please email us. In many cases, we can see your order and process it for you. If needed, we can also reenter it on our end.

You can also skip the website altogether and email us your purchase order, handwritten list, or even a clear photo of your order. We will take care of the rest.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We want ordering from King Wholesale to be easier for you, not more stressful.

One of the best parts of King Wholesale has always been the people behind the company, and today we’re celebrating one of our own.

Many of you know Lynda from helping with your orders or answering your questions over the years. I’ve known Lynda since I was about six years old, when she worked at a local veterinary hospital and became friends with my mom. More than 15 years later, she’s still an incredible part of the King Wholesale family.

If you’ve ever talked with Lynda, you know her love for animals extends far beyond the office. Pet Age Magazine recently featured her story, sharing everything from lambing season on her farm and the family’s vintage bowling alley to her lifelong passion for animals. It’s a fun glimpse into the person so many of our vendors and customers have come to know. King Wholesale simply wouldn’t be the same without Lynda. We’re so proud to see her recognized.

Today we celebrate a legacy.

Today would have been Valerie MacMillan’s 67th birthday… and for anyone who knew her, being born on April 1st felt pretty fitting. She had a sharp wit, a great sense of humor, and just enough mischief to keep things interesting.

Valerie was the definition of passion. Passion for animals, family, cars, and building something of her own. She was one of the hardest workers out there, and once she set her mind to something, nothing stood in her way.

What many may not know is that King Wholesale was named after someone very special…
King, the dog in these photos.

He wasn’t a show dog. He wasn’t perfectly bred. He was a mutt with a one-of-a-kind coat and an even bigger personality. But to Valerie, he was everything. Loyal, smart, and unforgettable.

Back in the 1980s, when she had King, Valerie struggled to find quality grooming products that truly worked. Instead of settling, she decided to do something about it.

That decision became King Wholesale.

It started with one dog, one need, and one woman determined to do better.

Today, that same spirit still drives everything King Wholesale does.
For the pets people love.
For the people who care for them.
And for the legacy that started it all.
