🚨 Unpopular Opinion (but it needs to be said):
Stop asking for a groomer who can “handle” your highly reactive dog.
That’s not a flex.
That’s a liability.
“Experienced” does NOT mean:
❌ bite-proof
❌ injury-proof
❌ willing to risk their career for your dog
Let’s be real for a second—
👉 If your dog is lunging, screaming, snapping, or biting…
that’s not a “grooming preference.”
That’s a safety issue.
And every time someone says
“just find someone experienced,”
what you’re really saying is:
➡️ “Find someone willing to take the risk.”
⚠️ One bad bite = nerve damage
⚠️ One incident = a dog falls, gets injured, or worse
⚠️ One mistake = a groomer out of work
But no one talks about that part.
Everyone just assumes
“the groomer will figure it out.”
No—
some dogs are NOT appropriate for standard grooming.
Mobile, salon, one-on-one… it doesn’t matter.
💡 The truth people don’t want to hear:
Some dogs need:
✔️ Veterinary grooming
✔️ Sedation
✔️ Behavioral training BEFORE grooming
Not a groomer willing to “try.”
And before anyone gets defensive—
This isn’t about being “a better groomer.”
This is about being a responsible pet owner.
Because at the end of the day:
🐾 Groomers are human
🐾 Dogs deserve safe handling
🐾 And safety > your convenience
So instead of asking
“Who can handle my reactive dog?”
Ask yourself—
👉 Why is my dog reacting like this… and what am I doing about it?
