Stagecoach Stables first opened its doors in 1997 as a place for people to board their horses. It was organized and built to provide an educational training and boarding facility for horse enthusiasts of central Iowa. It is a premier facility in the Ames area offering opportunities for youth as well as adults to learn and enjoy equine activities of all kinds. In Dec 2021, Stagecoach was bought by

Rachel Haila and her family with the vision to continue to serve the people of Ames and the surrounding areas.

From easier obstacles to more advanced, our Overcoming Obstacles Camp this week was perfect for riders of every level! We had so much fun with equine confidence-boosting activities on and off the horses, team-building games, scavenger hunts, and more. I am so very excited to introduce you to our brand new, non-mounted program - In Hand, In Heart! This has been on my (Rachel's) heart for some time, and I'm so glad to finally share it with you!

The In Hand, In Heart Program is focused on building connection, communication, and confidence, without ever putting a foot in the stirrup! Over the course of 6 weeks, participants will work one-on-one with horses from our program to learn the foundations of ethical horsemanship from the ground up, and to build meaningful connections with our extraordinary horses.
