Cyclone Country Kennel Club The Ames area's foremost source for high-quality puppy classes, as well as courses in more advanced obedience and conformation.

No matter your dog's age or skill, there's a class for you. Join us for a session or become a member. Cyclone Country Kennel Club (CCKC) was established to provide classes and services that uphold the standards of quality maintained by the American Kennel Club. Since the 1960s, CCKC has provided the Ames area with the invaluable Super Puppy class, as well as classes in more advanced obedience and

conformation. In addition, the club annually hosts an agility trial, an all-breed and obedience show, a fun match, a hunting-dog seminar and a tattoo and identification clinic. Public service activities include visits to nursing homes, hospitals and schools, as well as public demonstrations about dog health, training and breed information.

The Advanced Beginner's Class had 9 this spring! What a great group of dogs and handlers! The class culminates with the Canine Good Citizen test and due to the size of the class, a large portion took the test a few days early. We also had 2 additional teams (one of our handlers was ill so they will we waiting until the fall). Ten teams and ten passes! I am so proud of how hard this group worked to achieve their goals!

Last week Cyclone Country Kennel Club volunteers were at at the Iowa State University Library, helping students take a study break ahead of final exams. The students were so appreciative and enjoyed meeting the dogs, visiting with the owners to learn more about the training the dogs do, and learning about different dog breeds! (They’ve already said how much they’re looking forward to more dogs next semester!)
This event is one of the many outreach opportunities for dogs and handlers who earn their Canine Good Citizen, ARL TheraPets, or Therapy Dog International certifications. Pictured are Mark Boeck’s Billy, Cheryl Clark’s Bryson, Michelle & Don Finch’s Cole, Nadine Beckwith-Olson’s Dude, Carey Segebart’s Keeper, and John Anderson’s Tessa.

It's that time again. Ben, Dude, Irie and Bling spent some time this week at ISU Vet Med Library. Prep Week is a stressful time for students. They appreciate taking a quick break to pet the dogs and relax. The dogs get lots of scritches and the students get good luck glitter (fur) to take with them. Fun is had by all!

Congratulations to the graduates of the 8pm Monday Beginners class! Well done, all!
