Please share for rescue placement!

Misty was brought to us when her owner unfortunately passed away. Misty is said to be around 6-7 years old. She is very calm and gentle. When you come to take her out, she wags her tail and walks well on a leash. She has done well with older dogs and even a very active young dog in our care.

If you have space for Misty in your rescue/shelter, please let us know!

This is PookieButt! He was an Alton AC dog that left for rescue and is still looking for his forever home with Metro East Humane Society! He has been with them several months, and just hasn’t found his people yet.
PookieButt prefers a home without kitties and with female dog buddies! He is only 45 pounds, so he’s the perfect medium size! If you are interested in meeting them, please reach out to them or stop by MEHS to meet him!

Remember our snuggly, chunky, hippo girl Amelia? She’s now known as Putty, and is ready for adoption at Metro East Humane Society!!

We're not quite sure what Putty is but dog she is not. Hippo? Maybe. Seal? Likely.

Putty is literal pawfection. She listens well. Walks well on leash. Keeps her kennel clean. Is SO sweet and SO cute. Even her snoring is adorable!! Her only negative is that she is a little bit of a diva and does demand that her treats be hand fed to her. If you put a treat on her bed, she will not touch it!

Meet 5 year old, 73 lbs. (she's short but chonky!) Putty today at our Edwardsville location between 11:30 and 5!

PAUL HAS BEEN TAGGED FOR RESCUE!!!!!!

We cannot be more happy for Paul. He has waited so long.

In saying that, 5As had take several of code red dogs the last couple weeks including Paul, Hans, Diamond, and Mush. All 4 are great dogs and deserve a chance in a happy home.

If you are interested in adopting any of these dogs, please stop in 5A's Animal Shelter in Godfrey any day of the week from 11-4. They have a full shelter of tons of other dogs as well.

They could also use support financially and by donations and always need evolunteers to help walk the dogs so that they get the attention they deserve!

Update: TAGGED FOR RESCUE!! Going to 5As this week!

We have had several people want to adopt him but we need a rescue to back him!!
(We are working to try to establish some kind of adoption program but that takes time and approval…so hopefully that’s to come. But in the meantime we HAVE to have a rescue tag to send him to an adopter!)

Paul is another AMAZING dog that is very friendly, playful, and silly. He has also been with 7 weeks due to NO fault of his own. Animal control is no place for a dog to have to live this long. Quality of life is a concern. Because of this, Paul is also CODE RED!!! 🆘🆘🆘

Paul is around 2-3 years old and a stocky boy weighing 60 pounds. He is non reactive to other dogs in our care. He is a goofy boy and friendly. Paul is very treat motivated (probably where his chonky body came from 😆).

If you have space in your rescue or shelter, please let us know ASAP. Transport can be arranged.

Update: rescue found!!!!

Max is around 5 years old. He is goofy and silly. He’s a little nervous at first, but he’s wiggly and wagging the whole time. Then, he comes over ready for treats, pets, and love!
