When the power went out for Alpena earlier this year, for two weeks the good folks at Wok 'n' Otaku made sure every dog here had fresh water, clean blankets, and that their care takers had food and coffee every single day. This last week their soul dog had to undergo major surgery and is still under 24 hour care for the next few days. Let's show them some love, Canine Care Family, just like they showed us! Sending all the healing vibes to doggo Teal'c! 💙

💜Bella💜
Bella is a 10 yr old Lab/ Rottweiler mix. Although a senior, Bella still has lots of s***k. Bella does have some arthritis and old lady lumps but She doesn't let that keep her down. She loves to go for short walks, play keep away and fetch (we just don't throw the ball to far for her) and of course she loves to get some pets too! Bella is fully potty trained, walks well on leash and knows her basic commands. She deserves a life outside of the shelter where she has comfy spots to lay and someone to give her all her favorite things. If you are interested in giving this loving, playful and well behaved senior her best life please contact us or stop by the shelter during open hours.

Tanner- almost 2 year old Poodle mix- 30 lbs. Before this sweet young lad came to us for adoption, he came to us as a stray which means if he can, he will run away. He also killed at least one chicken on his adventure to jail. He would love a fenced yard, or will need to be on a leash.

Tanner LOVES car rides- he wants to feel the breeze through his hair. Speaking of hair, he will need routine grooming! Tanner has lived with small children and other dogs. He can be dog selective. A meet and greet with other dogs is always required. We can cat test him if needed.

Tanner is extremely affectionate and loves attention which can lead to being needy so be sure you are ready to have a sweet velcro lovey friend. 💚💚

DOG CLASS BEGINS 9/20/25 @ 1PM

WHERE: 4640 Long Lake Rd, Alpena. Class is outdoors, dress accordingly. Class will be postponed to the following week if there is poor weather.

WHEN: 9/20/25 @ 1PM. Class will be every Saturday (except 10/11/25) at 1 pm thru 10/25/25

COST: $150 due at the beginning of the 1st class via cash or check.

REQUIREMENTS:
- All dogs must have proof of Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella vaccinations with them at the first class to fill out paperwork. Dogs must be in good health--no coughing, sneezing, vomiting, diarrhea
- All dogs must be on a 6ft or shorter Nylon leash. NO FLEXI LEADS
-Bring soft pea-sized treats. Do not feed your dog before class.

CURRICULUM: We will be covering basic obedience (leash walking, conditioning & distractions, recall, etc..)

Greetings! Today I went to visit the wonderful ladies at Sunrise Veterinary Services for a check up! They were so nice to me even though I was so shy-- thank you so much! I'm told I am a pretty healthy boy.
💚Weight- 23 pounds! Perfect!
❤️Heartworm test- Negative!
💙Bordetella- Updated!
💜Rabies Distemper, Lepto- Good until January!
🩷 Nexguard Plus- 6 months ready to go!

I am dreading the colder weather coming up. I hate the cold and Auntie puts those stupid sweaters on me. 🙄 I want to find a home before the snow flies so I can snuggle in on those cold days. Please share so I can find my perfect humans!

Tanner and Tinsley came to visit and get a fresh new look. 💅 They are 15 month old mini poodle mixes looking for a forever home.
