Each year, thousands of dogs go missing — but today, we’re not just raising awareness… we’re pushing for action.
✨ Microchipping saves lives.
A simple chip (no bigger than a grain of rice) can mean the difference between a joyful reunion and a heartbreaking loss. It’s painless, permanent, and your dog’s best chance at getting home safely.
📌 Why microchip?
✅ 1 in 3 pets goes missing in their lifetime
✅ Dogs with chips are 2x more likely to be reunited
✅ Collars can break. Chips don’t fade.
💬 Know someone with a pup? Share this and spread the word. Let’s keep tails wagging and families whole.

It’s getting warmer outside. You may find ducks hanging out by a pond. While it’s a common thing to hear “feed ducks bread” this is actually harmful to these animals.

Does your dog eat their own f***s 💩? Here are several potential reasons for this behavior and strategies to help them stop:
1. Nutritional deficiencies
2. Presence of parasites
3. Poor-quality dog food
4. Boredom
5. Mimicking maternal behavior (mother dogs often consume their puppies' f***s to maintain a clean environment)
Before taking any action, it’s advisable to consult a veterinarian to rule out internal parasites or any vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
To address the issue, consider the following steps:
1. Switch to a higher-quality dog food.
2. Add multivitamins to their meals.
3. Ensure that their outdoor potty area is cleaned promptly after use to eliminate access to f***s.
4. Provide plenty of mental and physical activities to keep them engaged.
5. Address any anxiety that may arise from scolding them for indoor accidents, as this may lead to attempts to hide their behavior.

Why do dogs lick people?? They do it for several reasons....
1. Affection: Licking is a way dogs show love and affection. It's similar to how they might groom each other in a pack.
2. Taste: Your skin might taste good to them, especially if you've been sweating or have traces of food on your hands.
3. Communication: Licking can be a way for dogs to communicate with you, showing submission or seeking attention.
4. Exploration: Dogs use their tongues to explore their environment, and licking you is part of that exploration.
5. Comfort and Soothing: Licking can be self-soothing for dogs, and they might lick you to calm themselves down or to calm you.
Overall, licking is a natural behavior for dogs and usually a sign of their affection and interest in you. 🐾 🐕

We offer personalized in-home pet care and pet waste removal services. We provide the care they need in the comfort of their own home when you are away. We also administer medications and assist in basic home care.
Why in-home pet care? It offers your furry loved ones individual attention and walks. Dogs get anxiety when their “best friend” leaves. Keeping them in their own environment with the same sights, smells, and familiar sounds reduces anxiety.
Why have pet waste removed from your yard? It keeps your dog’s environment clean, maintains a clean and healthy lawn, minimizes germs brought into your home, eliminates one of your family’s most unpopular chores, keeps the stench at bay while also eliminating certain insects, and keeps your yard safe for children’s play time and family activities.
To tell you a little more about myself...My name is Michelle owner and founder of Fur Keepers Pet Sitting. I have lived in the Winston area for approx. 20 + yrs. My favorite season is fall, my all time favorite show is Grey's Anatomy. I enjoy helping others, traveling, going on cruises, the beach, movies, doing research, reading, wineries, hiking, listening to music, as well as spending time with friends and family. I'm an Orthodontic Certified Dental Assistant and have been in Dentistry since 2002. I've always felt like there was something missing in my life and have been striving for something more. I opened Fur Keepers Pet Sitting Aug 2018. Since then I have been so happy and fulfilled with both my jobs. I have a lifelong passion and love for animals. Since I was an only child growing up w/o any classmates living close by, my pet during those times was literally my best friend. Pets aren't my whole life...they make my life whole.
Kerry, my husband, has lived in the area his whole life except when he was in the Navy for approx 8yrs. He enjoys mostly everything I do except the research and reading part. His favorite TV shows are: The Ranch, Big Bang, and King of Queens. He enjoys neon signs and jukeboxes.
Hayley, my daughter, is in college to get a degree in Medical Administration/Medical Coding and Billing. She likes painting, baby sitting, playing with dogs, hiking, and listening to music. Her favorite TV shows are: The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and Big Bang.
We are ALL insured and bonded. Hayley typically helps out by doing visits, no overnight stays. Kerry and I both do visits and overnight stays.
My husband and I now live in Advance with our 2 teenage daughters, and 3 fur kids Bentley
(Whippet/Terrier mix), Bella (Cockapoo), and the newest Sophie (Ratcha). All 3 rescues!! We all have lots of love for animals and love getting to meet new pups and forming a bond with them. Our house would be filled with animals if we had a bigger house with land.
I strive to provide the most reliable, yet affordable, and high quality pet sitting service. I promise to love and care for your animals and home with the same level of dedication I give my own family. When you choose Michelle's Fur Keepers for your pet sitting needs you can rest assured that your pet-as well as home-is/will be well taken care of.
Wanna know what’s happening?? I text, leave notes so that you feel completely secure that your pet and household are doing fine. Fur Keepers Pet Sitting provides service within a 15 mile radius from Lowes Foods in Advance (outside area-additional fee)
I'm bonded and insured for your protection as well as registered with the state.
