🚨 Healthy Uterus vs. Pyometra 🚨
This side-by-side comparison shows the dramatic difference between a healthy feline uterus and one affected by pyometra — a serious, life-threatening uterine infection most commonly seen in unspayed female cats and dogs.
Pyometra can develop quickly and become an emergency before many owners even realize something is wrong. Symptoms may include:
🐾 Lethargy
🐾 Vomiting
🐾 Increased thirst or urination
🐾 Loss of appetite
🐾 Abdominal swelling
🐾 Vaginal discharge (sometimes absent in “closed” pyometra cases)
The good news? Pyometra is largely preventable through spaying. 💙
Early detection and treatment save lives, and we hope this visual helps show just how severe this condition can become. If you notice any concerning symptoms in your pet, don’t wait — contact your veterinarian right away.
