Imagine loving life as much as Shadow does!

This little guy doesn’t need much - just grass to run in, his emotional support stuffie and a refreshing pool of water to relax in afterwards.

Shadow is short and stocky, 6 years old and neutered. He’s embarrassed to admit he’s scared of big dogs but has been doing well with puppies! He is looking for a home without cats or young kids.

If Shadow sounds like your perfect match, sign up to adopt your new BFF at lenhumanesoc.org!

Check out Dom and Kuka enjoying a little love fest!

These two cuties could possibly be brothers.. they were found in the same location, have similar body shapes and are both only a year old!

Dom is an equal opportunist who falls in love with almost every dog he meets, so you don’t have to adopt these two together, but they sure would love it if you could!

Dom is the black and white one, Kuka is solid white with spotted ears.

Both are 1 year old, neutered mixed breeds who can’t wait to fall in love with you. Sign up to adopt at lenhumanesoc.org!

At ten years old, the shelter is no place for a dog like Rosie.

This senior gal requires a life full of cuddles and attention, and though we do our best, she desperately needs an adopter or at the very least, a temporary foster home until we can find her forever home!

Rosie walks well on leash, seems to be housebroken and loves car rides more than life itself! For an older lady, she's in great shape and looks forward to her daily strolls. Though Rosie previously lived with other dogs, she's looking for a quiet home without other pets where she can be your spoiled princess.

The shelter life is definitely taking its toll on this good girl - she no longer has an appetite and kennel stress is beginning to affect her.

Rosie is a ten year-old mixed breed, spayed and weighs 50 lbs.

Please, if you have room to adopt Rosie, sign up here: https://lenhumanesoc.org/apply-to-adopt

If you can't adopt, please consider fostering temporarily to get her out of the shelter! Sign up here: https://lenhumanesoc.org/foster

After nearly nine incredible years, it’s time for us to say goodbye to someone who has left an unforgettable mark on our organization.

Heather has been so much more than our Clinic Manager. She has been a champion for animals, a source of comfort during difficult moments, and a steady presence for countless pets who needed someone to care. Whether it was a tiny, fragile kitten fighting for a chance at life or a senior dog searching for love and dignity in their golden years, Heather never hesitated to step up. Her compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to animal welfare have touched more lives than we could ever count.

Heather’s heart is enormous, and she has shared it freely with every animal, coworker, volunteer, and adopter lucky enough to know her. The love she has poured into this work has helped shape who we are as an organization, and her impact will continue to be felt long after her final day.

While we are heartbroken to see her go, we are also excited to see where her next adventure takes her. We know that wherever she lands, animals and people alike will be better for having her in their lives.

Thank you, Heather, for nearly nine years of kindness, leadership, and unconditional love. We will miss you more than words can say, but we are so grateful to have been part of your journey.

Please join us in wishing Heather all the best in this next chapter. ❤️

this week is being dedicated to James!

James came in to visit with cats a little over 2 years ago and loved interacting with the animals so much that he became a volunteer.

James told us that since becoming a volunteer he has learned a lot about animals and how to take care of them. James has become a master at dishes, laundry, general shelter up keep, cleaning windows, loving on the kitties and making enrichment items! When asked what James likes the most about LHS, he couldn’t decide between socializing with the cats or learning from staff!

Please help us celebrate James’ passion and dedication to all of the animals that have come into LHS!
