Building capacity to amplify adolescent voices.

A successful day of learning, collaboration, and shared commitment marked the Changemaker Mass Media Training for delivery agents from Twiga and Mivumoni Secondary Schools.

Teachers are now equipped to cascade the training to students, nurturing youth leadership, strengthening peer-to-peer learning, and using storytelling and media engagement to promote healthier behaviours and create lasting impact in their school communities.

Changemakers in Burkina Faso 🇧🇫

We are proud to celebrate the success of the Awareness Day activities in Burkina Faso, where students across four schools, both intervention and control schools, came together to learn, engage, and champion healthier futures.

From PIMA International School, Hadja Koutouga Diallo School, Saint Antonia School, and Saint Dominique School, young people raised awareness on the importance of building healthy habits early to prevent non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease.

One key message in the T-shirts says, “Dear adolescents, your health of tomorrow is built today. Adopt healthy habits, eat healthy today, and stay active every day, that is staying healthy tomorrow!”

Together, we are empowering young people to make informed choices today for a healthier tomorrow.

From garden to plate! 🌱

Learners at Obinju Secondary School in Kenya are now enjoying the fruits of their hard work through the Changemaker Project.

After harvesting fresh vegetables from their school garden, students actively participated in washing, preparing, and cooking the produce, which was then served as part of their school lunch.

A powerful example of learning by doing, while promoting healthy eating, nutrition, and sustainable food practices.

It is incredibly promising to witness the students at Mivumoni Secondary School proactively taking responsibility for their health.

Through dedicated investment in learning the skills and establishing urban gardens, they are acquiring lifelong vocational knowledge and reinventing their lifestyles towards healthier nutritional choices.

These hands-on interventions are vital steps contributing to reducing adolescent vulnerability to non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
