Mat's Cats - Street to Sweet Rescue Cats This page will feature cats we have rescued, are fostering and/or are available for adoption. We are just a couple who love cats and do what we can.

We have been feeding, helping and doing TNR for the street cats of Taipei for about 10 years now. For the last few years we have also been rescuing and fostering as many kittens as we can to get them ready for homes and save them from the streets. We currently have four rescue cats we call our own (Mouthy, Nami, Mindy and Quinn) and have a room dedicated to fostering and housing our rescues. We do

n't have a lot of room, or funds, but we do what we can, rescuing one or two who need our help and we do all we can to make them strong, healthy, sociable cats ready for homes. This page will feature the kittens currently in our care as they are prepared for new homes, as well as photos of our cats and street cats we help or need to try to rescue. Any help through sharing, liking and donating is always appreciated. Let's get these cats from Street to Sweet!!!

All day we were worried and Grandpa. Zero energy, collapsing out of heat/exhaustion, no appetite, vocalizing complains constantly and just seeming to be going downhill at a breakneck speed. I gave him extra liquid food and higher subcutaneous doses as well. Cut to 2am…

Hey dad. I know you want to sleep, but I need to play with my favorite little mouse and complain if any other cat tries to take it. This cat bounces back faster than any other four legged feline I’ve ever seen.

Got all these from Ann Arbor T-shirt Company, shipped to Taiwan. Had to load up on my crazy cat person shirts. Great sale on Amazon and they come in great packaging. Knowing they came from Michigan was nice and made me think of my cat rescuer friend in Michigan who left us recently. I’m sure Martin would have rocked a bunch of these shirts with pride.

Shelter visit day on Saturday to 貓瘋非營利慈善貓專科醫院 CrazyCat NPV. Slider is the official front door greeter and will mow you down in his speed racer wheelchair. The babies were so cute I just wanted to take them all. They all look like little Mouthys and Namis.

Some new faces in the back area. DunGway was in trouble for fighting in the front with others, so he’s back in solitary. Happy and Sugar got in trouble for attacking Croissant, so they had to stay in their cages, but I got to spend a little time with some of the more frightened ones to get them more used to people.

A quick visit always ends up half an afternoon or more giving them all love.

I finally got him on video. Grandpa just randomly goes to any toy and starts playing, but will grumble when he wants someone to make it move. This is not normal for a cat that lived more than a decade as a street cat and was always afraid of people. Even more amazing…

- When we first rescued him, we were given a 6-8 month timeline for his kidney disease progression. We were sure it was the longest he’d last. That was 3.5 years ago.
- On his last check up we were told he’d progressed into Stage 3 and would most likely go downhill quickly. We were given a possibility of 2-3 weeks. That was 8 weeks ago.

I refuse to change anything other than medication dosages when needed. Somehow we’ve found the perfect combo of food, supplements, medication and love that has kept him going… or he making up for lost time living outside, scared of everything. He’s basically a Highlander, a Terminator and Benjamin Button all rolled up into one cat.

He’s going to outlive me. 😂
