Before the water and the muddy fun, start with something simple: feeding time.

Watching an elephant reach for food, use its trunk, and respond to what is around it gives you a closer look at how this amazing animal behaves. Every part of the experience offers something different to notice.

At Chalong Elephant Retirement, feeding is one of the ways visitors can spend time near elephants and learn through direct observation.

Come and discover the experience for yourself.

A family trip can include young children, parents, and grandparents — and everyone may enjoy travel differently.

Children want something new.
Parents may want a relaxed day.
Grandparents may simply enjoy watching from nearby.

One experience doesn't have to mean the same thing to everyone.

As long as everyone gets to enjoy the day in their own way, that's what makes a good family outing. 🐘💚

The best photo isn't always the perfect one.

Sometimes it's the photo taken when water hits the camera, your hair is completely wet, or an elephant comes a little closer than expected.

Real experiences don't follow a script.

And that's exactly what makes them worth remembering.

Don't worry about looking perfect.

One of the questions guests often ask before visiting is:

“Do I need to prepare anything special?”

Not really.

Wear comfortable clothes, bring suitable shoes, and pack a change of clothes for the water activity.

We'll take care of the rest.

Your only job is to arrive ready to meet the elephants. 🐘

Spend enough time with elephants and you'll start noticing the little things.

One may walk straight towards the food.
Another may watch first.
Some may be more interested in water than anything else.

Every elephant has its own personality and behaviour.

So, put the camera down for a moment and simply watch.

You may notice something a photo could never capture. 🐘

A nice dinner is always a good idea for couples.

But on holiday, you might want to try something a little different.

Swap the dinner table for feeding elephants together.
Swap the perfect restaurant photo for a day of water, laughter, and a few unexpected moments.

Travelling as a couple does not always have to mean traditional romantic plans.

Sometimes, trying something new together is what gives a trip its best stories. 🐘💦
