This role is rooted in structure, cleanliness, and detail. We’re looking for someone who sees a mess and fixes it before being told. Someone who understands that cleanliness isn’t just a task — it’s essential to the health and wellbeing of every dog in our care.

📋 Organized & Observant
You must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive. If something doesn’t make sense, we expect you to speak up, find a solution, and implement it. If something is out of place, you fix it. If something isn’t working, you improve it. You are the glue that keeps the systems together.

👥 Leadership with Compassion
We need a natural leader — someone who holds others accountable while inspiring them to grow. Someone who can maintain a calm and positive work environment even when things go wrong. You’ll be overseeing the work of staff, ensuring that daily cleaning, feeding, walking, and medical care protocols are met — and exceeded.

The dogs at our shelter need more than love — they need clean spaces, fresh water, proper feeding, medications on time, and people who follow instructions and protocols to keep them safe and healthy.

• Isn’t afraid to scrub, sweep, and mop every single day
• Can follow instructions and communicate
• Wants to do real, honest work that changes lives

Our shelter is in need of a few large outdoor trash cans to keep up with the waste our dogs (and humans 😅) create each day. Right now, we only have two, and they are quickly overflowing—leading to piles of bags outside, which attracts rodents and makes cleanup harder for staff and local sanitation workers.

🗑️ We’ll share a photo of the ideal styles, but any large outdoor garbage bins are welcome and appreciated!

Donating a trash can might not seem glamorous—but it’s one of the small things that makes a big difference in our daily operations 💪🐾

🚨🚨New Wishlist Items + Urgent Need!🚨🚨

As we prepare for hurricane season, we’ve added some crucial new items to our wishlist—including rechargeable fans, solar lights and water storage solutions to help us stay safe and ready during emergencies.

Right now, water in Piñones has been extremely inconsistent—we’ve gone nearly 5 days without steady access. To help us keep the shelter clean and the dogs cared for, we’re also accepting 5-gallon water jugs—empty or full!
Tap water is perfect for cleaning.
If is Fresh water, Just label it so we can use it for the dogs to drink.

We know not everyone can donate, and that’s okay! Sharing our wishlist is just as helpful. Your shares bring our shelter the visibility and support we need. 💞

✈️ Help Our Puppies Find Their Forever Homes in Newark, NJ! 🐾

Are you traveling from Puerto Rico to Newark, NJ? You can make a life-changing difference by becoming a flight volunteer for our rescue puppies!

How It Works:
1. Coordination: Share your travel details with us. We’ll handle all logistics and cover any associated costs.
2. Airport Meet-Up: On departure day, our team will meet you at the airport with the puppy and necessary documentation.
3. In-Flight: The puppy travels with you, typically in a carrier under the seat.
4. Arrival: Upon landing, the adopter or our representative will greet you to take the puppy to its new home.

It’s a simple process that ensures our puppies reach their loving families safely.
