Her ultrasound showed 2 or more healthy and very active kittens growing inside! ✨

𝐔𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 is a safe and non-invasive way to monitor pregnancy. It can help assess fetal viability, movement, development, and overall condition. Measurements of the developing fetuses can also be used to 𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮.

For Xapi, the estimated delivery date is:
📅 September 6, 2026 ± 5 days

Ultrasound can also 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙖𝙣 𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙣𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙛𝙚𝙩𝙪𝙨𝙚𝙨, although the exact number may sometimes be difficult to determine, especially when fetuses overlap or are positioned close together.

𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐋 𝐁𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐁𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐒 𝐀 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐎𝐔𝐒 𝐌𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐁𝐋𝐄𝐌

𝑪𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒊𝒆, a 4-year-old female Dachshund, was brought to the clinic due to 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙡 𝙗𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙨𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛-𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙪𝙢𝙖. Unfortunately, the affected portion of her tail had already become necrotic, meaning the tissue was no longer viable and 𝙧𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙪𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣.

Persistent tail biting may be associated with skin irritation, parasites, allergies, wounds, infection, pain, neurologic problems, anxiety, or compulsive behavior. When left untreated, repeated chewing can cause significant tissue damage, secondary infection, poor blood supply, and eventually necrosis.

Thankfully, 𝘾𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙞𝙚’𝙨 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙛𝙪𝙡! 💙 She recovered well after the procedure and was discharged on the same day with take-home medications and postoperative care instructions.
