Meet Primo 🐶

Primo came in with a pr*****ed eye after a dog fight with a bigger dog during feeding time.
Good thing his owner acted fast—his eye was saved and a temporary tarsorrhaphy was successfully performed. 🙏

⚠️ Big Dog Behavior Factors (during feeding):
✔️ Food aggression / resource guarding
✔️ Lack of supervision
✔️ Size dominance over smaller dogs
✔️ No proper feeding separation
✔️ Poor socialization or training

✅ How to avoid incidents:
✔️ Feed dogs separately
✔️ Supervise meal times
✔️ Train “leave it” and calm behavior
✔️ Avoid mixing big & small dogs during feeding
✔️ Early socialization and discipline

Early intervention saves lives—and eyes. 👁️💙

Not all cesarean sections are successful—especially when the mother dog may be a carrier of underlying disease.

Luna was brought in for an emergency CS after showing dark vaginal discharge and unproductive labor. Sadly, the puppies were delivered prematurely.

Despite this, Luna is now stable and recovering well here at Navotas Pet Station 💙

This case is a reminder of how critical prenatal checkups are for expecting mother dogs.

✨ Importance of Prenatal Checkups in Dogs:

✅Early detection of infections or diseases that can affect pregnancy

✅Monitoring fetal development and viability

✅Identifying risk factors for difficult labor (dystocia)

✅Ensuring the mother is healthy and fit for delivery

✅Planning timely intervention (like CS) when needed

✅Nutritional guidance for a safer pregnancy

✅Increased survival chances for both mother and puppies

Your pet’s pregnancy needs just as much care and preparation as any other. Early checkups can save lives💙

🐾 Meet Koko

Koko was brought to us due to difficulty in urination. The owner noticed the problem started after a recent change in dog food.

Upon examination and urinary catheterization, we found a blockage caused by struvite crystals—a common urinary issue that can become serious if not treated early.

Koko is now under proper care and monitoring 💙

⚠️ Choosing the right dog food matters!
Here are important factors to consider to help prevent urinary problems:

✅ Balanced mineral content (avoid excess magnesium, phosphorus, calcium)
✅ Supports urinary health / pH balance
✅ High-quality, vet-recommended brand
✅ Encourages hydration (wet food or high moisture content)
✅ Age & breed appropriate diet
✅ Gradual transition when changing food
✅ Avoid too many salty treats / table food

🚨 Watch out for these signs:

* Straining to urinate
* Frequent attempts but little output
* Blood in urine
* Lethargy or discomfort

Early detection saves lives!

🐾Last night’s emergency at Navotas Pet Station
A dog fight incident that needed immediate care and attention 🚨

Dog fights can happen unexpectedly, but many are preventable. Here are some common factors:

📊 Factors of Dog Fights
• Lack of proper socialization
• Territorial behavior
• Fear or anxiety
• Competition (food, toys, attention)
• Unneutered dogs (hormonal aggression)
• Owner misinterpretation of warning signs

⚠️ Early signs like growling, stiff body posture, and intense staring should never be ignored.

Your pet’s safety is always our priority.
We are here 24/7 to serve you 🏥🐶🐱
