This cat was brought to the clinic with a large wound extending from the ear downward. The exact cause of the injury is unknown, but it may have been caused by fighting with another animal, or getting caught on a sharp object. The wound also appeared to worsen due to excessive scratching.

During assessment, the cat was still responsive and active. Surgical wound repair was successfully done to properly close the wound and help with healing and recovery. 🩺🐱

Upon examination, we found tiny organisms on her skin. Under the microscope, these were identified as chewing lice—small, wingless parasites that live on the surface of your pet’s skin. They feed on skin debris and can cause intense itching, hair loss, and irritation. Puppies and dogs with weaker immune systems are more prone to infestation.

Early detection makes a big difference in keeping your pets comfortable and healthy 💙
