A COMMUNITY MILESTONE WORTH CELEBRATING 🐾

On March 20, 2026, a Mass Free Anti-Rabies Vaccination and Free Kapon Program for dogs and cats was successfully conducted—marking a significant step toward a healthier, rabies-free community.

This initiative was made possible through the collaboration of the Philippine Veterinary Medical Association – Southern Mindanao Chapter (PVMA–SMC), the Office of the City Veterinarian led by Dr. Eugene Gornez, the Kidapawan City Veterinary Office, dedicated PVMA–SMC officers, and private veterinary practitioners.

We are proud that our veterinarian from Pluma Veterinary Clinic was part of this meaningful effort.

✨ 248 dogs and cats successfully neutered
✨ 1,473 pets vaccinated against rabies

These milestones reflect the power of teamwork in promoting responsible pet ownership and safeguarding public health.

We are happy to share that the matter has been resolved. The client has reached out and issued an apology for the inaccurate information that was posted, and we have graciously accepted it.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT

Pluma Veterinary Clinic has recently been made aware of a post circulating within the Davao City Dog Lover community regarding the alleged quotation cost of a pyometra surgery assessed at our clinic. In the interest of transparency and fairness, we would like to formally clarify the matter.

For the case in question, the official quotation provided to the client for the all-in surgical package—ovariohysterectomy and exploratory laparotomy—was ₱23,250. This quotation was documented, printed, and explained to the client prior to any procedure. The amount follows the tariff guidelines of the Philippine Animal Hospital Association (PAHA) and the Davao Veterinary Practitioners Association (DAVEPPA). We categorically clarify that the figure of ₱40,000 mentioned in the circulating post is inaccurate.

As part of our standard protocol, we ensure that all clients receive written cost estimates before proceeding with any medical or surgical intervention. This allows pet owners to make informed decisions regarding their pets’ care.

We would also like to share that even prior to the public circulation of this post, our clinic had already been considering reaching out to the pet owner to discuss the possibility of extending financial consideration. We fully understand that emergency veterinary procedures can pose financial challenges, and we consistently strive to balance compassionate care with professional standards. Unfortunately, the post containing incorrect information was published before we were able to initiate that conversation.

While we empathize with any pet owner facing a difficult situation, we also have a responsibility to correct misinformation. Inaccurate claims about veterinary costs may unintentionally discourage other pet owners from seeking timely and necessary medical attention for their animals.

Additionally, we respectfully remind the public that posting images that identify our staff and our establishment without consent may have legal implications under the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

This statement is not intended to escalate the issue, but to protect the privacy, dignity, and safety of our team members who are committed to serving the community with integrity and professionalism.
