Meet Mariz, a 7-year-old female dog who was brought to South Paw Animal Doctors after her owner noticed she was losing her appetite and becoming weak.

She was confined and given intensive care by our veterinary team to help her regain strength and recover. After several days of treatment and close monitoring, we’re happy to share that Mariz has finally been discharged and is now feeling much better! 🐶✨

Nothing makes us happier than seeing our patients recover and go home healthier and stronger. 💖

🩺 Diagnosis: Ehrlichiosis + Suspected Leptospirosis

Based on her lab results, Mariz tested positive for Ehrlichiosis and showed signs of liver and kidney injury, suggesting a possible Leptospirosis infection.

These diseases are serious tick- and rat-borne infections that can cause severe damage to your pet’s organs — and can be life-threatening if left untreated.

🐾 How to Protect Your Pets:
💉 Keep vaccinations updated — especially against Leptospirosis
🕷️ Apply monthly tick and flea prevention
🚫 Avoid letting pets roam in areas with rats or stagnant water
🩺 Schedule regular wellness check-ups for early detection
