Yes! Adult pets (dogs and cats) get sick too. They still need their vaccinations too, at least once yearly.

With the wet season we are in now, especially at the moment when it suddenly rains, highly contagious and fatal infections like Canine Distemper, Leptospirosis and Kennel cough are starting to become more prevalent. Furthermore, Rabies is also prevalent.

Prevention through Vaccination is the key to avoid getting these infections. All dogs and cats regardless of their age and without protection could be infected with viruses and bacteria.

Remember, vaccines are way cheaper and effective than treatment. 😻 So have your furbabies vaccinated and keep them protected from viruses and bacteria.

The Department of Health (DOH) has recorded 426 rabies-related deaths in 2024, highlighting the urgent need for pet vaccinations and public awareness of rabies prevention.

According to the DOH, 193 cases (45%) resulted from bites or exposure to domestic pets, with 41% of cases linked to unvaccinated animals. Additionally, 56% involved animals with uncertain rabies vaccination status.
