So someone asked me why I have cross bred dogs? And what has made me choose the crosses that I have?

Ok so here it all is.
My first dog was a lovely lovely German Shepherd x Whippet (Spice) and she was an awesome dog who put up with a teenager me. I started obedience with her when she was 3 years old by the time she was 6 she had won her way to test B and had 3 wins in B at which stage I had 4 years off obedience then came back in when Spice was 10 years old and she won her last B and went on to get only 2 challenges in C.
I then went on the look out for another dog, I looked at pedigree GSD, pedigree Border Collies, went to spca’s, checked out over 200 puppies and none really clicked with me. Until Graham Hawkyard said I could have Cruz a 8 week old Siberian Husky x Border Collie. With the smarts of a husky but the train ability of the Border collie. Great combo❀️
Who went on to be OBGRCH Agrade Cruz ADX CDX .
So that cross stay with me through my next 4 dogs really with great success
Another grand champ, 3more obedience champions.
Then with no more Sibe x Borders around I had to work out what next and by now I had a young child to think about.
So I sat down and thought about all the pedigree dogs I liked that could do the following:
Obedience really well
Agility well but not necessarily to top level
Be Kid friendly
Be good for film work
Be clever enough to learn lots of tricks
Be sound enough to cope with lots of exercise as would run beside horse.
The list was not long.
German Shepherd working lines
Aussie cattle dog
Labradors field trial lines
Farm dogs not pedigree
Aussie shepherd
Kelpie
Now to work out which ones I liked and wanted to live with for next 15 years.
Liked the look of Aussie cattle dogs but thought they might be a bit sharp for the kids so again thought if I could find an Aussie cattle dog cross with a heading dog that would be able to do all I wanted to do.
So then it took me 6 months to find a litter of that cross that had been bred ethically.
Along came Punch OBGRCH Karuz’s Knockout.
Then Punch was the father of my next 2 obedience champions.
Then I decided I wanted a little dog, so once again made a list
Jack Russell full one a bit too feisty
Bichon full one a too expensive to groom
Pap full one bit to breakable for me
But what about a wire haired Jack Russel feisty and go getter crossed with the clever Bichon.
So once again the search was on.
And as they say the rest is history
Along came Scorch.
So it’s not that I don’t like pedigree dogs it’s just I haven’t found one that suited me yet. One day!
Although I did buy my son a pedigree Border collie πŸ˜€
