My thoughts are with Jane at this sad time.

Jodi Cowan a 50 year old woman was mauled to death by two dogs while out walking.

While this happened overseas, mark my words it will happen more here too.
Until the day we start being way more careful about the experience of owners of fighting or combat breeds and the crosses of these breeds, we will have this sort of thing happen more in NZ.

I believe breeders and welfare organisations need to only sell these breeds to really experienced good dog owners.
As inexperience will not save a life either canine or human.
RIP Jodi

Question for you all???

How many responsible dog owners are too scared to walk their dogs on the streets?
Fear of it’s ok he friendly people?
Fear of aggressive dogs?
Fear of owners that have no clue of what they own or how to control it?

Have your say tell us why you no long walk your dog on the streets or if you do why you do and have you had any problems?

So a lot of people have asked me how I chose Scorch here’s how.

1. Decided on the type of dog I wanted wirehaired Jack Russell x Bichon.

2. Spend months looking for that cross.

3. Find that cross, talk to the person who bred them, ask her if she will send you photos and videos of the boys that are available. (Thanks for doing that Glenys)

4. Decide that yes it is worth calling in a favour on a couple of the pups. So Ring my friend Lynda Loader (the only person I would trust with this job) and ask her if she could pleeaseee go and test some pups for me. (She said yesπŸ’œ thanksπŸ’œ)

5. Do Not tell Lynda which one I like and cross my fingers and toes that the one I like is ok when she tests them.

6. Get the video phone call from Lynda, with her saying β€œI like this one” πŸ‘pheww she picked the same one I liked.

7. Ask Glenys if Lynda could pick him up and bring him to Rotorua show for me (she said yes thanks Glenys)

8. Get video calls from Lynda on the way down teasing me that she might not let him goπŸ˜‚ (Thanks for making his first car trip a great experience Lynda and Wayne)πŸ’œ

9. He arrives and straight away all that meet him love him, once we could get him out of Lynda’s arms πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

10. Now have to share this special wee guy with my hubby. Who loves his Timmy (his name for Scorch)

So biggest Thankyou To
Glenys for breeding him
Lynda for testing him
Wayne for going out of his way to pick him up
THANKS ALL πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

So over the weekend a couple of the team went to Taupo to compete in Obedience. There were some good Results and it was very good to see Brenda and Wikki competing again, and what a great weekend they had 2x1sts and a 2nd in test C and earning top dog for the weekend.
Sherri also had a lovely round on Saturday afternoon gaining a first place with Ditto. It was lovely to see the siblings first and second πŸ˜€
Irma got a placing with Spica
Sherry got some placings with Banshee in beginners.
Karen judged two tests and played in the ring with Smash.
Good luck for next weekend at Napier all πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ‘βοΈ

Scorch story: Well here is the 5 month video. No things aren’t perfect but that’s ok as Karen says, there is plenty of time to polish and proof behaviors. And she is just happy that I love training ! πŸΎπŸ˜€πŸΎ
