Hi everyone,
I currently have a cat staying with me who is needing to be rehomed due to his mum and dad having to deal with significant changes in their lives.
I know this is a really bad time to be trying to find a new home for a furry critter and to that end, I can keep him at the cattery until the New Year (at no cost to you) if that would be of any help.
A bit of information for you.
Lugosi (male) is a 3 year old British Blue x. He is grey (blue) in colour and has a beautiful thick, plush coat. He doesn’t shed fur and his coat doesn’t get matted. He is in great shape and has no health issues. He is currently vaccinated and his booster is due in June 2021. He is also micro-chipped.
He is intelligent and very outgoing. Initially when he arrived here, he was a bit aloof but once he got to know me and got used to the routine, he really came out of his shell and is a very smoochy boy who loves company but is also fine with being left to his own devices. When David is in the cattery feeding the cats and spending time with them, Lugosi loves lying next to him and expects to be patted.
He has a strong personality, but is not a demanding boy. He is confident and takes everything in his stride without getting stressed (as an example, he was absolutely fine when fireworks were going off in the immediate area).
Lugosi is very laid back and is tolerant of being in the cattery and loves seeing anyone who will give him the time of day.
He’s not such a fan of being picked up or sitting on your lap, but loves to lay beside you when you are sitting down, or if I’m moving around, he likes to be nearby and enjoys plenty of pats and a good conversation.
His mum and dad have written the following:
Lugosi is named after Bela Lugosi who played Dracula back in the 1930s. This was mostly due to the fact that as an 8 week old kitten he was mostly ears and teeth!!
He loves the outdoors and can usually be found during the day, under the shade of a tree and in the late afternoon and evening he enjoys soaking up the heat from the path. He is not much of a hunter or fighter, he lost a few fights in his time and has had a few scrapes and vet visits
We trained Lugosi to come inside at night and would appear around 10pm for food then pop out for about 30 mins before retiring to his favourite living room chair for the night. In the evening he also likes to sit next to us getting his head stroked.
He grew up around a very active Jack Russell terrier, they got on and would happily sit on the deck sunbathing together, but they don’t sleep together.
In winter he loves sleeping on the foot of our bed but mostly prefers his own company in the living room with the heat pump!).
If you are interested or know anyone who might be, I would love to hear from you.
